Or if they had, they may not have played him. In that case, they wouldn't have put him into crucial situations where he gave up runs in a pair of 1-run games against Boston. As deep as the Astros' bullpen was, I still can't figure out why they thought it was a good idea to throw an injured pitcher out there in some really difficult circumstances.
I'm not complaining about it. I get why they do it. I'm just saying we don't know what is really going on with Correa and it's fair to speculate because of how they operate.
I'm guessing it is because he was still a expected to be better pitcher than the bullpen depth in small amounts injured. Astros probably thought there wasn't much of a chance for him to hurt his arm more than he already did.
I tend to give the benefit of the doubt to the management that is with the players every day to do what they think is best. Certainly we can aargue their decisions as that is what a BBS is for, but I'll lean towards management.
I'm just saying you can't really know how bad Correa is, or isn't, injured by listening to them. Right now they say it is a sore neck, might be all it is, or it might be a lot more As I said originally, our management team is the best in the game in my opinion I see a big difference in keeping info more secret during playoffs than during the regular season, Tampa isn't changing their pitching plans based on whether or not they think Correa is playing today or not lol In any case, we NEED Correa healthy, we are still really good without him, but if this whole team is healthy a majority of the year, we win 105+ games
Welp, Diaz at SS today...sore neck has knocked him back almost a week now...hopefully he will be back in there soon
Correa (neck) is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Rays, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports. Correa had neck stiffness crop up Tuesday and was unable to play in Thursday's season opener. The 24-year-old has remained optimistic he'll be able to play at some point during the four-game series against Tampa Bay, but it's unsurprising to see the Astros being cautious with his return to action after he didn't feel right when taking swings Thursday. Aledmys Diaz will grab another start at shortstop in his absence.
There must be something in the air or water in Houston. Strangest symptoms ever for professional athletes.
