Based on an article on astros.com, the decision has already been made. "Third baseman Jed Lowrie still sits on the DL with a torn ligament in his right thumb..."
Correa has the most potential, I've ever seen of any Astros player. Possibly only Trout, Harper, Cabrerra, Pujols, and A-Rod have had as much potential in the past 15+ years...

he is absolutely insane. He's clutch all over the field. not sure which i'm more impressed with more, his game saving defensive plays or his offense. God I hope he's an astro for life already. fingers crossed. (yeah it's premature but not by much..)
And, to think... we were all upset that there was no "sure-fire" #1 pick (no Harper, no Strasburgh, no Price) in the years we were picking first.
This kid is unreal. I'm so glad we have him and Watt representing our city. (Not as huge on Harden but just my opinion
I am just glad he got his confidence back. I was worried that one game where he didn't cleanly make the phenomenal play he ended up making was going to scar his entire career.
I know exactly what y'all mean. He throws lasers to first base. He makes some of the most acrobatic plays from the SS position. He has one of the nicest pure swings in baseball already, that delivers a powerful punch. And he is a clutch performer when the game is on the line. Earlier in the season, I read an article that several GM's were asked privately which of the young players they would start their team with, It was something like 8 said Correa and 7 said Kris Bryant. I wonder if the GM's were asked again today, what the survey results would be. And note that survey was done when Bryant was tearing up the National league upon his arrival of being called up. http://www.si.com/mlb/2015/06/03/kris-bryant-or-carlos-correa-which-would-you-choose
Just wait a few years and see how much of a monster he'll be when his body develops and his strength increases. I never saw him as a power hitter, but what he has shown me thus far tells me that he'll be a consistent power guy in baseball. And that's awesome. A 12 year, 350 million dollar deal is in order.
I've thought about this a bit.... Would he accept a 10 year 250 million contract this offseason? I'm too lazy to look it up, what did Trout sign for?
