Boom. No 2nd round picks. Great move by Morey. Good upside.....zero downside.

Now......WHY NOT JUST CUT GARCIA TO MAKE ROOM FOR TURIAF?? Obviously Ronnie is out for the year, but why give up a 2nd just to keep Garcia on the roster?

Lol HOU had to give up somebody. Who did you want to give them? I like it, he saw action in what, 3 games this year for HOU?

It appears Brewer is owed $4.7M this year and has a player option for next year at $4.9M.

Except to save money, why in the world would the Suns do this?

I think part of the deal was Brewer agreeing to decline the player option. I don't think Morey makes it otherwise.

Agreed. We'd be a perfect fit for him, but when basically every team above us will want him as well, he'll pick the best spot where he's most comfortable. It won't be Houston.

@WojYahooNBA: Houston will send two future second round picks to Minnesota in the deal, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

Now you see what happens when you try to prevent your star player from getting a triple-double? You get exiled to NBA Siberia, IOW Minneapolis.

    My take on this trade:

After that playoff series against Portland last year, Morey went back to the stats lab and said: "Give me all the data we have on defense."

Somebody took a good hard swig of the defense Kool-Aid over the summer.

One down with more to follow? I am liking this trade because it gives Ariza and Harden someone to spell them and limit their minutes instead playing 38 plus minutes a game.

I try not to put players in my signature that have already been talked about in trade talks. I've had Goran in my signature for a long time on and off. But he's about the only one. Rox have been talking about Brewer for a while. The rest of the guys in my signature aren't really being talked about in trade talks and rumors. And of course I need to remove Rondo now. Understandomendo?

I hate to say this because I've always been a T Jones fan, and wasn't big on DMo later year... DMo has come around and matured and becoming a solid player and I wouldn't take him out of the starting lineup!! They have built a chemistry with him in there. I would bring TJones off the bench. It sucks to lose your spot to injury, but it happens

Because Morey has a bottomless supply of 2nd round picks. He always seems to be able to manufacture them. For him, it's like going back for more unlimited shrimp at Sizzler.
