After reading about the relationship Jason Terry and Corey Brewer share, and the one also with Kevin McHale with Corey and the other Rockets, I have NO Doubt that not only is Jason Terry not going anywhere soon, (thank goodness), but Corey Brewer is going to bring a cohesiveness to us that will be rock solid. All Hail the Giterdun Kid !!!!!!!!1 Daryl Morey !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Trading for Brewer and getting Shved in the process is actually terrific. The Rockets have added size and length to the small forward/guard position. Brewer reminds me of one Trevor Ariza...Long, lanky guard who is an excellent team defender and streaky perimeter shooter. The Rockets are trying to ease the minutes that Ariza has been accruing, and this seems to be a terrific addition. In regards to Shved, this is another terrific young combo guard who can actually shoot. Shved, in his third season avg about 16.8 mpg and is scoring 9.9 ppg. These are signs of a more confident NBA player that is starting to get used to the NBA game. Sure, he played on a bad Sixers team who needed scoring from anyone...However, with the Rockets he is going to be asked much less...and will deliver. More than Brewer, I really think Shved has the best chance at improving his career here in Houston. His value will be really appreciated during the course of the season. Keep an eye out for him. The Rockets have essentially gotten two deep at every position, having a good balance of guards and bigs. The Bench looks a lot better now than it has at the beginning of the season. Dwight - C DMo - PF Ariza - SF Harden - SG Beverley - PG Bench: Black/Dorsey/Capella - Center Jones/Papa - PF Brewer - SF Terry/Johnson - SG Shved/Canaan - PG
Corey Brewer is NOT being traded in any way shape or form. Period. This INSANE idea that a player we have coveted for YEARS is somehow a trade asset is beyond ridiculous. Dear jr GM's stop the micro-managing only in your minds and watch what this team is about to become. Can you say 2015 Pistons Bad Boys ? See, I know you could !
Reading 101. I believe they can contribute I was just responding to the guy who said theyll be traded anyway And its not entirely impossible. Theres a reason for the timing of the trade
Brewer is an upgrade to Troy/ Garcia because he is a leak out specialist, but I think people here are having an unrealistic expectation of him. I think it is more realistic to just expect him as an energy guy who is the eighth best player behind Jones and Terry on the bench. I hope he proves me wrong, because I can't think of him as good as role players like Diaw, Jarret Jack (with the Warriors), Crawford. It is good that Morey is bringing him in for a test drive. As for Shved, he can help pass the ball and drives to the bucket. He is stiill not a good shooter, so I have a lot of doubt whether he can crack the rotation when we have Canaan and Terry, both of whom are doing great this year. Does anyone know which 2nd rounders are going out? I know they sent the wolves the one from the Kings, which I think actually has some value( maybe 40th). Which other two are they sending out? Did they give the NYK's one? And how many second round picks do they have left?
If shved can play defense and hit layups then he will play. Look at nick Johnson. All he can do is pass and play D. He bricks layups and can not hit an outside shot

while I think the fit of brewer makes it fully possible that the rockets keep him, I think its equally insane and ridiculous to think he's not also a potential trade asset. That was the ENTIRE purpose of trading him into the TPE by yesterday. If he and shved weren't seen as dual purposed (contributors and tradable) they wouldn't have consummated the trade coincidentally on the date that would require them to be eligible for a trade at the February deadline.
