When did I say "only Mexico has this"? If you're not from the USA, all the more reason why you shouldn't care about one single player, much less from another country.

Individual players don't win championships. That vast amount of people seems to forget that it's a TEAM sport. We're not even talking individual efforts here.

At the least, I am almost certain that those weren't wearing USA jerseys while rooting for Messi.

    WTH?

You don't "pull" for anyone after your team is out. Only bandwagoners do that.

The MLS is about equivalent to the championship in the UK. And the top MLS teams could be at least low end table in the premeir league, the budasliga, or any of the other top leagues, who are top heavy, and not all that strong at the bottom.

I hope Fiers has a good start tonight, cause that will be 3 in a row and 4 of the last 5 where he's pitched very well. We could even start to say we have another starter on a roll

Hmm, as a Brit I have to say having watched quite a bit of MLS, I have to say it's not anywhere close to even the bottom half Premier League teams. It's very poor

Great goal by Colombia but we definitely miss Brooks. Poor defensive effort by Besler-Orozco-Yedlin.

You would be correct. MLS is garbage or rubbish, as you guys like to say, compared to even the bottom half of the premier league.

    No way DD

    Let's just agree to disagree.

Unless you're talking 1st division championship and lower and not the main Premier League which is pretty competitive top to bottom. A team facing relegation in the Premier League will beat the MLS champions IMO

Better showing from USA. 4th is probably fair for this team. Would've been interesting to see if we are better than Mexico.

We just lack talent . We don't have guys that can pass , no one on our team has a great touch especially relative to above average European and South American players .

Jermaine jones is prolly out best passer . Unfortunately jones is getting up there in age . For the US to be considered a true contender in future world cups we are gonna have to hope our young talent like pusilic, nagbe , and yedlin continue to grow.

Not a chance, the top teams in MLS, would easily compete against Aston Villa and others....

As for tonight, as soon as that Colombian player headbutted Orosco I thought he was going to close fist hit him.

That headbutting crap deserves someone to LAY THEM OUT.

Pretty classless display from Colombia in the last 10 minutes or so

Also, gotta agree with DD on this one, the bottom of the EPL has some pretty putrid teams, its definitely not "competitive" from top to bottom. Good MLS teams could certainly compete with Norwich, Aston Villa and the like.

It is not just the Premier league either, all of the BEST leagues are SEVERELY top heavy and are pretty crappy at the bottom, but no one ever talks about the minnows in those groups....

The lack of a salary cap in Europe allows the big teams to stay big and the little clubs to every 40 years or so rise up - Leicster City.
