    Came on CF after watching TNT, wanting to hear ppl reactions, but shocked to see I was the first. I have never started a thread before I figure I would never get another chance like this again. Sorry for being overzealous. I just figured with all the endless discussions over the past weeks about Lin and the ASG, the title of the thread was self explanatory (don't think I have privilege to change it).

    As much as some people hate Lin being an All-Star candidate, Lin himself doesn't even care to be in All-Star. But what can he do if NBA simply put his name in the ballots and fans just keep voting him? There is a lot of irrational hate on this kid for this matter. :rolleyes:

    for many years some players get voted to the all star game that don't even deserve to be there at all. Now because of Jeremy Lin, people is crying foul. hypocrite! Just jealousy, envy!

    but I gotta give Jeremy kudos, he said he is not an all star this year and he doesnt even care about it at all. all he cares is about winning games.classy..

    People are speaking two different languages here:

    1) Those who think it's a popularity contest only.
    2) Those who think the All-Star Game is based on merit.

    Lin fans who believe #1 think the worst of those who believe #2, who don't want to see Lin starting over Chris Paul. The reason is because the amount of negative publicity and backlash would be enormous, and it would be very damaging to Lin. Do you think Lin wants to start the All-Star Game? Hell no.

    Had Jeremy Lin been voted as a starter over an MVP candidate like Paul, it would be the story from tonight until long after that game. Lance Armstrong and Manti Te'o would be writing thank you cards right now to Jeremy Lin.

    You aren't serious with this. Lin being in the All Star Games is more of a controversy than some dick lying about his dead girl friend & another dick who decieved millions of people for years & cheated in sports...

    You hit the nail on the head. But I think NBA All-Star organization should take the blame for the confusion. They designed a voting system which is clearly a popularity contest but promoted All-Star Game as a merit-based contest, thus leading the argument among the people.

    Thank god, Lin is not mainland Chinese and not as popular in China as Yao. Otherwise, based on this voting system, Lin would without doubt be voted in. :p

    This is one of the reason why i follow Jeremy Lin. He knows his place in the sun. Sadly, he gets a lot of hate when he is just playing basketball. He is not even complaining or b****ing around. He just want to play and for the team to win. I also hate people who is saying Harden is just padding up stats.
