Christopher Hitchens was one of the early cheerleaders for the invasion of the Iraq and believed in the Neo-Con idea that Iraq could be remade for the better by force. He believed that the Saddam regime had an active WMD program and that Ambassador Wilson was lying. He also thought that in 2005 conditions were good in Abu Ghraib.

So no Christopher Hitchens wasn't right.

LOL...just shaking my head: Why bring up Obama when the Iraq war was clearly corporate war profiteering? Whatever Obama has or hasn't done doesn't change the simple truth Trump tells.

Credit Republicans for taking the "Ok, so the Iraq war might have been the biggest foreign policy blunder of all time that created a power vacuum, leading to Isis and destabilizing the entire region. But Obama made it worse, so it's all his fault and we shouldn't talk about Bush anymore!!!!" There never seems to be any accountability on either side any more, the truths of history have been replaced by what talking points can get candidates re-elected. (Perhaps one consequence of the new system of campaign financing... BTW, who's the only candidate bringing up this issue- THE ISSUE THAT AFFECTS ALL OTHER ISSUES.)

Only if you ignore everything he said in the video.

I think what he said in the 5 years prior to that video weighs pretty heavily.

Anyway as I said earlier why things got very bad in Iraq after the US withdrew they are turning a corner with limited involvement. The Iraqi army is actually fighting and Sunni and Shia are working together to defeat DAESH. They've pushed DAESH out of Falluja and Ramadi with limited US involvement. In that sense I don't think Hitchens was all that right.

We really don't need to involve ourselves with the JV team, just so long as they don't cross a red line by using chemical weapons. In which case well just call Rusdia to peacefully resolve the situation.
