Isn't this the exact same problem that Michael Flynn is facing right now? Up to 5 years in prison for failing to fully disclose on security clearance documents and in related interviews. Omissions don't seem to be acceptable. Now, if a court ends up deciding he wasn't obligated to list it (and it was somehow okay to tell a straight lie to Al Franken during confirmation hearings) then that's fine. But, I don't accept the excuse that he was just doing what the FBI told him to do. He should do what the law requires. It's not like he didn't have enough legal knowledge to figure out how to do it the right way. His response to Franken is the most telling. That was not a misunderstanding of the requirements of security clearance. He told the Senate a baldfaced lie because he didn't want them to know about his interactions with the Russian government. I think that's pretty serious.
Wha, wait, if I exclude my arrest record on job apps I am not lying? Whew, and to think all these years I have been listing each arrest. Well, if the AG's PR person says some unnamed FBI agent told him it was OK to exclude them... But the next paragraph says: So who to believe, the spokesperson for the guy wanting to hide meetings with Russians, or the guy advising people to list all meetings? btw, I don't really have an arrest record...
If we could get a hold of this form, perhaps then we could end the discussion on a definitive note. However, as the CNN contributor noted, Sessions "should" list all the meetings, not "must".
That raises an interesting question... is the form accessible? That all said, it doesn't concern you that the lead law enforcement officer has been intentionally hiding numerous meetings with Russians, especially in light of the current controversy involving Russia? Seems people were critical and suspicious of past AGs... this one seems to be intentionally dishonest.
According to the form, the applicant's confidentiality is supposed to be protected, so I don't expect we'll see Sessions'. But, the question on page 79 reads: I don't know if he was really supposed to put his meetings on the form, but if he was, this would be the spot, I think.
The sudden Russophobia displayed by many on the left is really remarkable, especially in light of the ideological heritage of the Bernie Sanders wing of the Democrat left, which is closely connected with that of the Russian communists.
It's absurd that the fool actually typed that. Modern Russia is run by oligarchs, not communists, something that Bernie Sanders is the antithesis of.
LOL... you do know there is a difference between socialism and communism? But what is remarkable is how casually a right wing republican like Mojoman accepts and embraces the current connection between Russians and the Trump-led republican party. I remember when Ronald Reagan referred to Russians as the "evil empire"... and now our president is openly sharing sensitive intelligence and collaborating (ok, ok... air quotes around allegedly) with the "evil empire".
