Has anyone lived there? Visited there?

They have a few good veteran benefits, one in particular for college I want to take advantage of.

It strikes me as a cold place (which I want) but also being oceanside it has me curious how the summers and the beaches are? Good swimming beaches or beaches like Galveston?

Any other input would be appreciated it well.

I can't exactly tell you why, but I enjoyed the people in Rhode Island (from Providence down to Newport) more than Conn/Mass, but that's just me on 2 trips.

Grew up there, so maybe its the nostalgia talking but its great!

It is pretty cold, summers can get upto 80ish good enough for a swim, not a Houston blistering swim, but a good one nonetheless. The fall is what I distinctly remember, and how it beautiful it always was. People are nice, friendly, and average income per household is pretty high when compared with the rest of the country.

It will surprise you how small everything is. You can get from anywhere to anywhere in less time than it takes to drive from galveston to Conroe.

If you live in Hartford, it is entirely reasonable to drive to Boston for the afternoon and be back home for dinner.

Also, Hartford is probably the most boring city in the USA.

I spent time working in Stamford. It's basically a spillover of the NYC financial community, but I traveled around a bit. Connecticut is nothing special, but yes they do have some beaches, but a very limited time you can really make use of them, due to their weather. You'll be close to NYC and Providence/Boston, which is nice. Easy train rides away.
