I've dogged Patterson and will always gladly eat crow when it comes to Houston teams. Valiant effort by Pat while showing mad heart.
Love that he's found the scoring though but wish he could pull down some boards. Jeremy Lin is grabbing about as many rebounds as he is this year.
This guy was loved as a rookie and hated on all last year up until about a couple weeks ago. Now he's tearing it up and everyone looks to be jumping back on that wagon. I think the biggest thing is that he's healthy this year and finally starting to put together the flashes of brilliance from his rookie year. He's playing with great confidence right now. Nice to see our #14 picks developing and coming into fruition whether we keep him or package him his stock is rising fast!
This was the ninth straight game for Patterson in which he made at least half of his shots from the floor. That's the longest current streak of consecutive games with field-goal percentages of .500 or higher for any NBA starter.
Rebound Totals for the season: Asik: 173 Parsons: 98 Patterson: 67 on 378 minutes Lin: 64 Harden: 61 Morris: 61 on 291 minutes Granted Morris is on the floor less w/ great rebounders (Asik/Parsons) so we look beyond box score totals to advanced stats. If we look at TRB%: Morris 11.6% Patterson 9.8% We see again that PPatt is a fairly bad rebounder. [All data from basketball-reference]
Which is an amazing feat considering he's done this primarily shooting jumpers including quite a few 3 pointers. It'd be one thing to accomplish this if your game was like Dwight Howard or Tim Duncan where you're getting easy buckets right at the rim but nope... Pat is putting on a jump shooting clinic. He's bringing that lost art of the midrange jumper back.
I forgot to mention he not only missed that dunk in the 4th but he also got rejected on what looked like a freebie 2 handed flush that Ibaka luckily got a piece of in the first half. Miss 2 dunks and still shoot over .500 from jumpers = impressive.
Loving Ppat scoring right now but he just doesn't board enough to be THE answer for the Rox starting 4 moving forward. Thunder were getting all kinds of putbacks tonight. I think this is were the Rox missed Parsons tonight as well with his rebounding.
Actually, he has played good to great defence on Josh Smith, Greg MonroeX2, Lamarcus Aldridge, Zach Randolph, Carlos Boozer, Anthony Davis, and Favors/Millsap. And you are getting mad that he played one bad half against Bargani? So then explain how Kevin Love gets rebounds. Never was the the most athletic guy out there. Agree 100%.
