I didn't see a thread about this...Juwan passed 15,000 career points last night. Now at 15,003 and counting. What a great career, and a tireless hard worker. Congrats Juwan. Cheers!
The bi-polar Juwan threads continue. Last season Juwan was a sunglass stealing, overpaid and over the hill bum. This season he is a tireless, hard working professional who is in the twilight of a great career. What s difference a year makes, anyway congrats Juwan! You deserve all the proops in the world. Fans bashed you last season because they did not realize how difficult it was for the other guys on the team without Yao and T-Mac. This year you have steped into your role very well and we are rolling twords an NBA title thanks to Battier, Howard, Deke, Hayes, Head etc.
Yay Juwan! It's tough to pick one on this team since there are so many great shooters, but he might be the Rocket I have the most confidence in to nail an open shot. Well, besides Yao.
Congrats to JH!! Looks like he might be able to play at a productive level for at least another year. The jump shot is $$$ right now.
Hey, call me an optimist, but in comparison to other overpaid bigs we've had like Mo Taylor and Cato...I am ok with his earnings (at least for this year)... Especially if you factor in Yao's injury and the positive effect that Juwan's attitude has on team chemistry... I think he is earning his paycheck.
Congrats Juwan! So happy to see him pick up his game and his leadership this year. edit: (whoa, post #666, number of the beast...hehe)
This is a good point overall for the forum, but I would just like to point out I considered him to be the latter even last season. When Yao and TMAC were out Juwan was our top scorer, my favorite game last year was when we were grossly undermanned and Juwan hit his patented 15 footer from the top of the key to seal the win, then gave the 'kiss of death' to our opponents' bench.
He is playing above expected but it looked like he was slacking on D last night. He gave us open lay-ups to Kenny Thomas and we really didnt start playing good D, until he was out of the game in the fourth quarter. He might be tired from the minutes and that is one of the many reasons I cant wait for Yao to get back.
juwon has had a really solid nba career. he might finish at around 18,000 points. thats a lot for a guy who's never found a real home in the nba.
Congrats to Juwan! Although I never really posted my negative thoughts, I was ready to throw him under a bus in the past.
What happened to Zboy and Tinman? They disappeared from the game threads as soon as Juwan started to emerge. It makes me think that the only reason Zboy watched the Rockets was to see Juwan fail. I like Juwanna Howard
