No one's saving the second twin, they're just delaying the inevitable, and allowing a second, entirely savable baby to die along with it. ------------------ Cheerleaders are just dancers who've gone r****ded. visit www.swirve.com
Rocketman, So basically, you have giving up all hope!? ------------------ ...out with the old, in with the new...
This is different from abortion. Abortion is killing a life and interfering with a natural process. If the parents separate these twins, they will be killing one of them. If they don't, they will both die naturally. Obviously, the parents (and children) have been dealt a bum deal. I don't see a problem in siding with nature on this one.
The baby is basically dead already. However, that would be getting into the whole euthanasia issue. I have a question, would anyone fault the parents' for allowing the separation? ------------------ Cheerleaders are just dancers who've gone r****ded. visit www.swirve.com
I suppose there is a chance both could survive, but I'd say there is a better chance of winning the lottery. Not all conjoined twin cases are alike and this one looks pretty bleak. Just look at how they are joined: Even if left intact, and by some miracle they survive, what kind of life could they live? [This message has been edited by outlaw (edited October 01, 2000).]
