I just spoke with the studio guys at 610. They did say they mentioned this but only as a rumor... it's not an official report. He said there is a rumor that Chuck Hayes has a "5-year" (must have meant four) offer for $20M.

So that's what this is right now... just a rumor.

I would take a trade exception. I know they won't trade Thompson or Whiteside. I think they need to trade a big though with Hickson already on their squad.

Chuck was the first thing that came to mind when I was thinking of why I would most want to watch the Rockets this year followed closely by Lowry.

If true, does this mean we're gonna lose HayesFan in addition to Moes? :(

The rumors I heard is that Sacramento wants to offer Chuck a one year deal so they can be major players in the 2012 offseason.

Makes sense since they don't have a lot of money tied up for 2012-2013. They have a lot of depth at PF/C positions.

    Major Players?

Since when has Sacramento a destination for star players?

MLE for Chuck is worth it. If it's only about money Morey should match it.

I'm in the minority here, I'm not for keeping Chuck, especially on a team that isn't going to be going anywhere for the foreseeable future. Let the guy have his payday, he deserves it.

I love the Chuck Wagon but would not match. He is a great role player but not what the Rockets need, which is a 7 foot basket protecting shot blocking rebounder.

See Ya Chuck. Best of luck to you.

Were trying to make moves that will put us in a good position for the future???...we let go of battier and now were close to losing chuck, 2 of our best defenders, what could that mean?...HIGH LOTTERY PICK!!! you know Martin, Scola and Budinger have NO defence.

The guy deserves every cent if it's true. I'll miss him. But congratulations to the Chuckwagon. Kings fans are going to love him.

I live in Houston but my job is based in Sacramento so in out there at least 2 weeks out of every month and I prob saw chuck Hayes at the sac airport like 5 times since the season ended. Now I'm not saying I knew something cause I didn't but it seems now that maybe he knew sac wanted him all along kinda cool I did say what's up to him one time he was really nice and his wife is so really good looking.

    Always love the Chuck-Wagon!

I would say he is the MVP of the Rocket the past 2 seasons!

    Best of luck big man!
