    I've been listening for the last 5, since this was posted, and yes -- they were talking to Rich Gannon about football/Texans.

    Any confirmation that he signed this deal or was it just an offer?

    Glad Chuck got his payday, sorry it wasn't with us. He's worth $5 mil per, but not with a glut of PFs on our roster.

    I would say the Rockets definitely wanted Chuck to come back but given the salary that the man deserves and the direction that the team is trying to head in (obtaining a superstar), we just couldn't afford him. :(

    I am very happy if this true. This means Morey has confidence he has Chucks replacement already. Maybe even close to signing him once the date comes to sign players.

    A friend of mine sent me a message at 3:21 saying he just heard it on Sports Radio 610. I was going to make at thread myself, but since I dxidn't hear it and found no information around the internet about it, I didn't :eek:

    I think Morey is looking down the road, and knew that putting $5 million into Chuck Hayes would hurt his cap flexibility in the future, and this team needs to play the young guys to find out if they can play and should be extended.

    They may not call it tanking, per se, but I would bet anything our 09ers get some significant burn this year to find out if they can play.

    Wins are nice, but development is key.
