What does one have to do with the other? Are you dense?

I trust the IRS infinitely more than con man Trump.

You don't think they know what they are doing?
You don't think the wealthy fall under greater scrutiny than the average Joe?

Please tell me that you aren't that stupid. Richard ****ing Nixon released his tax returns while under audit. There is no logical reason for trump to withhold his tax returns unless he's hiding something. You obviously don't care. It must suck being you, with all due respect.

He hasn't shown his tax returns to the public since 1999.
Why the f***ing great brouhaha about it now?
    Smdh.
Edit - correction - he showed one in 2005.

Because in 1999 he wasn't the acting President of the United States. As the leader of the free world it'd be a good idea to know whether he has financial conflicts of interests that could be seen if he simply released his tax returns.

Once again I ask - do we not trust the IRS? They are particularly meticulous with the wealthy.
"Individual income tax returns — including those of public figures — are private information, protected by law from unauthorized disclosure."
I personally would not want my tax returns made public and I bet I am not alone.

Apparently Comey is now going to testify but only if the hearing is public.

Only public ehh.... hmmm. Sounds like he's got something he WANTS to say now.

Given that you're just a random person and not the most powerful person in the world, I don't think you should have to make your tax returns public either. However if you were the POTUS, I would personally feel a lot safer knowing whether you were responsible with your own personal finances and also would like to know your own personal business interests to see if it aligns with political and foreign policy that could be enacted to your personal benefit at the potential detriment to the rest of the country.

Holy ****, it is almost worth having Trump as President for a term just to watch the ludicrous spinning, crawfishing, discombobulating and prevaricating bullshit that the right now feels obligated to spew just to defend their party.

Trust the IRS to do what? To review Trump's tax return and report to the public that candidate Trump or now president Trump has significant income from Russian sources, some of which is very questionable or appears to be from questionable sources? The IRS isn't a reporting institution. They only look to see if the amount of taxes are appropriate for the amount of income. They aren't looking at the sources of the income itself.

Heck, Trump uses the excuse that his returns are being audited (and apparently have been audited for years), so that alone should alert you that Trump's returns are questionable at the very least.

In your last sentence you say you don't your taxes disclosed. But you are not an employee of the United States. Trump is. He works for the citizens of the United States. And we citizens deserve to know if he has inappropriate income or even illegal income from Russia and whether that income is related to or connected to Russian efforts to influence are elections. As a candidate he knew that all prior candidates voluntarily provided their returns for disclosure. Trump, and Trump alone refused That in itself should have disqualified him.
