For the 2nd straight week, I'll attack the play-calling. Until last week, I had not done that at all in this team's existence. Running the ball on every first down...then trying to do a play-action on a 2nd and long??? Over and over again??? Come on man...they're not biting!! They know what you're going to do before you do it...and so does everyone else in the stadium. We have some good offensive playmakers, and we're not facilitating them to succeed. Admittedly the OL is inconsistnet...so get Carr out of the pocket..run some bootlegs...mix them up...some reverses...something to keep them off guard. They did very little of that yesterday. The defense was certainly a positive. That's as well as any defense has played against the Colts all season long.
They asked Steve McKinney why there were so many false start penalties in the first half. He said it was because they decided to change the snap count this week. He said once they went away from that, the penalties stopped. WTF is the rational for changing the snap count? We didn't get a single offsides penalty and we got 5 false start penalties. Great idea, coaching staff.... Funny, McKinney rolled his eyes and laughed during the interview. He said once we got away from the "tricky stuff" as he rolled his eyes, the penalties stopped. He didn't seem too happy with the decision...
