I agree, but Tech is not a bad job at all for someone who is only 33 and has never been a head coach. And considering he played at Tech, I can't imagine him turning down an offer.
Colorado has hired San Jose State coach Mike MacIntyre. Seems like a good hire on paper. He has been the coach there for a few years now and led his team to ten wins this season. The risk, though, is that his teams were terrible before this season. Counting his 10-2 season this year, he is 16-21 for his career. That's 6-19 before this season. You have to wonder if maybe this was just a case of a team with a ton of seniors and not necessarily the work of a genius head coach.
Doug Marrone, head coach of the Syracuse Orange, is leaving that job to become the head coach of the Buffalo Bills. I don't think this is a complete shock, as Marrone's more high-profile jobs before coaching Syracuse were in the NFL. But it is a bummer of Syracuse. It's tough to find someone that can have success there.
