The guard from Adelman's old stomping grounds was Marcus Thornton, who played in Sacramento.

Someone who Adelman scouted or coached may still be on the radar

Dorsey is as good as gone. May be replaced by Boozer.

A sharpshooting 4 is in sight. Something about winning takes precedence over money; he may come for cheap. Relates to noisy birds (Pelicans)

Ryan Anderson, I think, does have some interior game. Specifically, at his best, Anderson is a very good offensive rebounder. So, if you put a perimeter guy who isn't used to blocking out for rebounds on him, he can hurt you.

Some of the other "stetch 4s" (like Patrick Patterson) don't really hurt smaller defenders consistently and that really limits their usefulness.

Decided to move this over to proper thread …

    Malakas -

I guess we just view the New Orleans franchises VERY differently ...
To me, since their inception in 2002, this whole organization is rivaled only by the Charlotte Bobcats as the most irrelevant, bumbling NBA team

They just completed a season where they barely snuck into the playoffs as a 45-win #8 seed ... basically the No Man's Land pugatory our Rockets were in with a team built around Kevin Martin and Luis Scola
And that was with Anthony Davis fully arriving in his 3rd season as a legit MVP-caliber superstar (IMO already the 3rd best player in the NBA behind only LBJ & KD)

Not to mention nearly every other West playoff team dealing with major injury issues
If KD doesn't miss half the year, there is about a 2% chance they even make the playoffs last year
How does that even happen with a superstar playing at the level AD found this past season?

LBJ did not go back to CLE because he was from there ... he's always been from there, and always will be, so if that was the deciding factor, we would have never seen him in a Heat uniform
He left because he knew he had a much better chance to win rings with a supporting cast of DWade and CBosh in MIA than Mo Williams and Varejao in CLE, and he was right
He returned because he knew he NOW has a better chance to win rings with KIrving & KLove in CLE than DWade & CBosh in MIA, and after making the Finals with both hurt while Heat missed playoffs entirely, it looks like he was right again

By CP3's 3rd season, NO won 56 games and made it to the 2nd round
By KD's 3rd season, OKC won 55 and made it to WCFinals, then made the Finals in his 4th year
By LBJ's 3rd season, CLE won 50 games and made it to the 2nd round, then also made the Finals in his 4th year

2 of those 3 teams proceeded to then lose their franchise cornerstone before either played an 8th year with the team that drafted them (LBJ & CP3), and the other is paying Enes Kanter $20M next year in a last-ditch move to convince KD from doing the same to them next offseason after his 8th season in OKC

What about a supporting cast of JHoliday, TEvans, EGordon, OAsik & RAnderson suggest to you that this team is ready to make a move into contender status?
None is even a top 30 overall NBA talent, and combined they have ZERO Upside
Unless you think AD has yet another quantum leap forward in him for 2016? ... if so, he surpasses Lionel Messi, Mike Trout and JJ Watt as the best active professional athlete on the planet

To me, AD is stuck in more of a Kevin Garnett / Kevin Love situation ... stuck wasting the individual brilliance of his youth for a loser franchise that is destined to squander its rare opportunity by mismanaging it's roster until it's cornerstone player leaves for greener pastures when it's time for a second mega-extension around years 6-8
NO already made this mistake the last time it had this chance with Chris Paul, and he bolted after 6 seasons of roster mismanagement left him with 1 playoff series win and pining for the bright lights of LA

As for Minny over NO this year ... 2016 may be a little premature for the young Twolves I'll admit
But I fully expect AWiggins to cement his place as the 3rd best SG in the league by the end of this season (after Harden & Klay)
If KAT even scratches the surface of his immense talent this season, the Wolves are already in a better long-term position than the Pels
Again ... with draft picks, they already have 2 budding superstar cornerstones in place, and therefore a leg up on Davis and NO

After 3 seasons, the Pels have seen what Jrue, Tyreke, Gordon & Ryan can give them in support of AD, even when he is playing at a HoF level for an entire season ... it's not good enough, and never will be in this conference

If they are smart, above all else, NO should prioritize Trades/Draft to lock in the 2nd & 3rd young budding stars that can eventually form the core of a true contender next to AD
ALL other considerations should be secondary at this point in their team-building

Even if that means sacrificing another 45-win season and 1st RD exit in 2016
As CP3, LBJ, LMA, and (probably) KD have shown us very recently, those type of seasons do not keep a Top 10 NBA superstar in a small market beyond his second contract

if Boozer and DWill come to the Rockets I think rioting will be happening down at TC.

DWill I dont mind - he doesnt have much left of his ankles but he can be good off the bench for sure.

Boozer though - ugh good lord

If they are looking at Boozer then I will infer that Scola would have been the replacement to Dorsey. Man Toronto had to jack up our Scola plans!!!

Because the West was arguably the toughest conference in the history of the game this year.

And because the Pelicans haven't even begun piecing the right team around AD yet. It will happen. Took the Rockets a helluva long time to get the right team around Hakeem.

In the first quote...Holy **** it makes sense. It all makes sense.

Evans is the "skeleton" that was revived. People thought it was Thornton. But no. Evans had amazing season but due to the Kings using him in the wrong way he quickly fell off. Now he's doing well in NO but is being overshadowed by Davis.

The brotherhood runs deep...remember when Ryan Anderson and Howard played together in Orlando? They played amazingly together. Man I am wishing this is true...

Injuries limited him to 22 games. Not to mention personal tragedy that would have sucked the life out of anyone.

But, yeah....41% from 3pt line, 95% from free throw line, 6.5 rebounds per game despite playing almost exclusively from the arc. Sucked ass.
