    Battle-fight harder!

    Simple, and effective.

Nope, we turned to small ball to open up the lanes for James to get his offense going. Good thing Thornton is giving us scoring that we are missing from Ariza. Howard and Capela are good at only pnr.

Maybe the assistants figured it out after McHale told them to try harder LOL

Everybody tried harder after Coach revealed the secret to winning-- and then they started winning by trying harder.

Is it possible to coach harder? Maybe buy another server rack for some advanced stat play?

But but but I thought that stuff was just for TV cameras?!

All I preach is, when things don't go well, work harder. When things don't go well, fight harder. They seem to embrace that. If you find another way to do things, let me know. That's the only way I know how to do things.

The "Play Harder" mantra by a coach only works when Coach is a HOFer who is notorious for playing harder than anyone else. Lead by example.

The ruthless HOFer Player's Coach is underrated by this board...just like Rudy was.

I think only JVG bridges the gap between a career Coach and the ex-NBA Star Player's Coach. And that had a lot to do with him going into a playoff bench-clearing brawl to hug Alonzo's leg.

Dangerously similar to Brendan Rodgers and his character mantra.

"I feel like we have shown great character."

Rodgers got sacked. Can we expect the same for McHale?

3 takeaways from the Rockets win over the Clippers

Terrence Jones will be Wally Pipped

Kevin McHale is a unique head coach. He will go with the hot hand more than most other coaches in the NBA. If there is a lineup that is working he will stick with it.

Right now, the Marcus Thornton lineup is getting it done. It is unfortunate because Jones is a hard worker and has talent, but four shooters and a big is why the Rockets are winning right now.

But you see, he's right. Great players do play and work hard. Great teams do play and work hard. If you have talent on the team, then it comes down to effort. You hear coach after coach, all aound the league talk about playing hard and working hard. These guys all say the same thing.

I guess the McHale haters are going to use these comments to crap on McHale, because that's what they do. But, McHale is right. It comes down to playing and working hard. I'm not sure what else you want the guy to say.

James Harden’s surge is picking up the pace for the Rockets
By Jonathan Feigen on November 8, 2015 at 3:41 PM

James Harden’s turnaround after struggling through his first three games of the season has come in many ways, not the least of which by hitting shots he had been missing. But as much as anything, he responded to a slow start by going faster.

“He’s making shots,” Rockets coach Kevin McHale said. “He’s being aggressive. Hes playing faster. I thought our entire team played like we had cement boots on for three games. We were just slow. You watched the film, it looked like we were sickly or something. We were so slow it was ridiculous. You just can’t play that way. He’s playing with more pace. He’s playing with more force. We got out of that doldrum, thank goodness.”

Harden put up 89 points on the road trip to Sacramento and Los Angeles, hitting 14 of 26 shots and 5 of 10 3-pointers against the Clippers when he picked up two fouls midway through the first quarter and a third midway through second quarter, but remained in the game to score 18 first-quarter points and 25 by halftime.

“Try to play smart and not pick up any cheap fouls and still be aggressive,” Harden said

Ariza makes so much of this possible by being able to guard 1-4
