I don't think so, but even if you fire him who would you sign? The only good (for real) coach out there is Bud, other guys are not really worth it imo.
With all due respect , MDA can go **** off . He got out coached this game . If you want players to flip the switch give them some direction . Eric Gordon has been ass and his shot selection is horrific . You had the whole season to work on going to the rack strong and working on choosing 3's a bit better . How do you have him in down the stretch ? Capela was playing great . Harden / Paul / Ariza / PJ /Clint .... that's your ****ing lineup !!!!! Why was Eric Gordon getting in over Clint or P.J when Eric was making **** decisions the whole game ?!
Utah ain't an easy place to win at. Just ask the Thunder. I'd still narrowly favor the Rockets to win this series, but we're now 7 games into the postseason and these lackadaisical starts and no-shows by role players are far too frequent. Part of this BTW is on D'Antoni. If the team isn't taking the opponent seriously, that's on you too. And if the players are making the same stupid mistakes on defense in the first half, call a damn timeout. Stop just sitting there cross-legged on the bench with an angry look on your face. Phil Jackson can get away with that. You're no Phil Jackson.
dumb, weak-minded, kneejerk take. warriors would've lost to the pelicans last night if the game was properly officiated, and you would be saying they aren't on our level
No, the warriors are a winning team because they have quality players, quality coaching, and they come out onto the court thinking they will beat you. Doesn't matter what court they are playing on. Doesn't matter who they are playing. If fans cheering loudly is all that matters, the rockets are really in trouble, as the Utah fans are loud and sit up close to the court.
ITS NOT JUST YOU COACH. I'm so sick of this mentality. Who does it stem from? Why do all of the players seem to buy into it at once? You have to respect every game.
No, you don't fire a coach after 55 and 65 wins. But he will have heat on him going into next season if they don't at least advance to the WCF. He's got just as much to prove as CP3 and Harden. One of the biggest knocks on D'Antoni is that he doesn't make adjustments very well in the postseason and tonight was a perfect example.
If we max cp3 this summer without making it to finals, it would be a huge mistake. He is clearly declining defensively and offensively he has to completely rely on his bbiq because of his aging athleticism. It'll only get worse as he gets older too.
Also it's kinda strange hearing it that at this point they still have on/off switch to respect the game. These guys have been playing the game for years. Is it just a D'Antoni or Moneyball effect? The hubris of being the first seed?
If he can't beat the Jazz I don't see the point of keeping him, regular season wins don't mean anything.
Harden - Paul - D'Antoni are the trifecta of media narratives about underachieving. I still think this can be a redemption tour and that some of their labels are unjustified. But games like tonight just can't happen. They shouldn't happen to any squad. Be competitive; even if you do think you outclass them, put your foot on their throat. Don't come out flat.
I don't blame D'antoni. We got wide open looks we were just not hitting a damn single one of them. I was also surprised at how slow we were going up and down the court. That was pathetic. If we want to beat these guys we have to keep our sense of urgency. This is the playoffs no team is a cakewalk.
Need to be told to play hard(er)... Need to be told to take it seriously... Are the Rockets too cool for school? We are in the playoffs, right? Not like Game 77, seed locked in, resting guys...
