Chandler looks great as does Asik. TD looks solid as well, though he's always been solid in practice and in skillset. I mean he did get a million dollar contract. It's just that in game time, he couldn't impose his own will or dictate tempo as a true floor general should. There are practice players and gamers and there are those that are both. We'll see who is who after the initial 20 games of figuring their strengths out. Contrary to people's expectations it seems, I've got lots of hope that this team will surprise a lot of people. As a side note, White is the X factor as Odom was for his teams for so many years, so I hope he pans out. Once they gel, by next year, not even two years from now, this team will be solid. I like so many players on this team and for me that's been rare. There's talent there. #excited #bringiton

    True.
The Rockets have to create expectations and make fans forget they are rebuilding, so they can sell more tickets.

Seems like as of now Douglas has earned at least some playing time, while I'm worried about Lamb. All you here about is his shooting and like Martin even with the coaches yelling push the ball, he kind of walks it up like Tracy used to do. I don't like his body language either.

Lamb has major faceup game. It's gonna be difficult not to overdo him in iso. Defensively though...he's a total zero right now.

Lin, Douglas, Livingston, Machado, Martin, Lamb, Parsons, White, Jones......lots of players on here can bring the ball up and initiate a play and finish. This could become a very unique team with the idea being that at almost every second of the game there will be at least two and a lot of time three guys on the floor that can and will bring the ball up if it is in their hands. In other words, no set point coming out of the defensive set and rebound. That is very, very unique and could lend itself to very creative mismatches if the coaches work within that structure to help the players understand who has the biggest mismatch in transition with the ball and without the ball and all the players truly buy into being totally unselfish and keep looking for their passes instead of the rim until they actually get to the rim.

With so many guys on the floor being able to bring the ball up and create the break, it makes it easier to gang rebound. So, with Asik and the rest of the kids doing that, I suspect we should win rebounding percentage most nights. Now the opponent has a choice. Do they concede one shot and done and drift back the perimeter guys to defend or do they suck in and try to compete for board percentage?? Because we are coming out of the pack most of the time with the ball on the floor and guys spreading and flying, we'll be able to start the break as soon as it comes off the glass. That's a big advantage. So, the next key for these kids is TURNOVERS. I know our turnovers are going to be high to start the season. Question is how much do they improve and lower their turnovers over the course of the season.

This group has a chance to do something unique in transition play.

Lamb really plays lazy on defense, trying to reach and getting beat easily by Machado and not really sprinting back. He accepts he's beat which is what Tracy always did.

Or maybe, just maybe, Lamb is a slower two guard going up against a faster point guard, who can handle the ball well. Maybe. Just a guess.
