you can't get exact numbers as you don't know the cap til July 1st (?). I think we will probably have more cap space than any team in the league this summer. This trade gave us more cap space not less. Garcia and Honeycutt are team options.

Delfino also has a team option at 3 mil which makes about 9.5 between the three of those guys if let go.

Question: On HoopsHype it has Scola's contract. Is the amount on there pre or post Suns contract? If its pre, that means it would subtract 4.5 Mil from the amount the Rockets would have to count towards the cap right?

 

That link gives the salary but not as it relates to cap space. I say this because I understood the poison pill for Lin and asik is broken down evenly in the cap instead of the insane 14/15 salaries

 

I don't have time to do the math now. It looks like the total is counting team options but not the Scola amnesty, which would be the correct way to do it.

The cap changes every year (on July 1st iirc). SO nobody knows how it relates to cap space. You are correct about the asik, lin stuff. That is probably not factored in.

Put it this way, we will have more cap space this summer than Dallas and Dallas plans on offering a max offer to Howard. So tell your coworker your GM is better than his GM.
