Goran should go to the Knicks. That way he can play with an aging, selfish player like Melo for the next 2-3 years. The bottom line is he wants to get paid, and the Knicks have the cap space to pay him. Of course, if the Knicks don't screw up the draft and can get a young center like Towns or Okafor, the future starts to look a little better for Goran. Signing with the Rockets? No way.

If success is measured by, NBA finals, while we are short both Bev and DMo, with Howard and Jones still not full health, and we actually are a success, then why would we want Goran?

If we are finals bound, not much needs to change with the team, keep it together.

This coming from a Dragic fan.

because if we do not win, then we obviously don't have a winning formula. The winning formula this season is also not going to be the same winning formula next season. OKC is back. UTAH is better. The Spurs could be less injury hit. We could be less injury hit.

We have always seen Bev/Terry/Pablo as a stopgap. What about the winning formula of a big 3? We are about to lose Josh. We are about to use Bev too I think. Could we still perform as well if Harden goes down with an injury?

There are too many questions to answer by maintaining the status quo and hoping things out of our control do not hurt us during an arduous 82-game schedule.

Should we take an opportunity to sign a borderline-all-star? Yes.
Can we do it and maintain flexibility financially? If so, yes, do it.
Can we do it and maintain our draft picks? If so, yes, do it.
Will this build up our core roster? Yes.
Will our bench suffer? Yes, but that what good GMs do is find people to fill in the bench as good as possible.

    Dragic/1st rounder
    Harden/Terry
    Ariza/Brewer
    Jones/DMo
    Howard/Capella/Dorsey

If Morey cannot find the guys to fill out the roster on vet-min contracts or by using whatever salary exceptions we have then he's not working the phones hard enough or scouting the world for talent enough.

We also may get Llull this season. He is going to get Dragic money from us I can only assume without any substantiation.

    Llull/???
    Harden/Terry
    Ariza/???
    Jones/DMo
    Howard/Capella/Dorsey

This makes us tons better, we have a great core that grew from 13-14 to 14-15 when organic growth wasn't even expected.

If we make a title run, and Harden continues to expand his game and Howard can stick to the game plan (PnR4eva) then the offseason will only require us to reload on the talent that we lost, possibly:

    Brewer/Smith/Prigioni/Beverly

    The question to me become:
Do we want Dragic or Llull, or can we afford both?
Are we trading our pick for veteran talent?
Who is going to fill the backup wing?
    Who runs the 2nd unit?
