Backup Center. Their current option isn't that great. Their defense suffers once Hibbert goes out of the game.

Waive Brewer. Trade Asik to Boston for Bogans, Jordan Crawford, and a 2014 first rounder.

Then trade Lin to Milwaukee and DMo to Philly for Ilyasova and Hawes.

Boston is not giving up Crawford + a 1st for Asik... Robbery right there.

And Milwaukee is not going to trade for Lin. They want to see what they got in a younger guy in Brandon Knight.

    LOL

Doh....Crawford...I forgot how good he was.

    LOL

He's salary match. Not an asset.

Personally, I'm a little surprised that Wilson Chandler's name isn't being mentioned more than it is.

If we're looking for do-it-all type players that can make an impact on both ends of the floor, Chandler definitely fits the bill. He also has proven success as a stretch 4 and can guard multiple positions. Sounds like a better version of Casspi on a reasonable contract.

Sure, Denver doesn't necessarily have a need for Asik, but we could always find a third party.

Do the Rockets beat the Heat, Clippers, and OKC with these additions?

I'd favor contracts and assets that can be flipped at the trade deadline or in the off-season. Get non-stars who can help to win now but also more easily moved than the 30M next year.

Crawford just turned 25 and is having a good year so far. He's an asset. I don't see the Celtics not having him in their future plans.

I hear you on that. Obviously, this isn't the type of move that's going to put you over the top. It revolves around the premise that we already have the talent and coaching in-house to beat the aforementioned teams - something that remains to be seen.

But a move like this serves two purposes: 1) It moves an unhappy player in exchange for a player of need, and 2) In doing so you aren't jeopardizing your ability to make a move in free agency two years from now.

Why would the Rockets need ilyasova or ryan anderson anyways. Terrance Jones is looking fine

Actually Chandler looks like a great fit. Probably don't hear anything because of that reason. Nuggets don't need Asik. Of course a 3 team trade could work.

Chandler signed a five year $37 million deal in 2012 which would match Asik's figure pretty close.

I doubt he'll want to come off the bench either.

Whoever we trade Asik to it would be great if we force them to take Lin as well.

Since Lin can't play with Harden, and Asik can't play with Howard, it really make no sense having either of them on the team. The problem is there won't be a lot of teams willing to take on Lin's contract without us giving something else up.

Out of all the trade rumors floating around Marion makes the most sense.

What's it's worth to have the best player on the court, at the most important position, for 48 minutes a games, 82 games a year?

Houston In: P. Millsap, R. Rondo
Houston Out: Asik, Lin, T. Jones, D-Mo and rights to Kostas Papanikolaou

Boston In: Lin, T. Jones, D-Mo, rights to Papanikolaou
    Boston Out: Rondo

    Atlanta In: Asik
    Atlanta Out: Millsap

Houston gets a top flight PG (albeit with fit concerns) and a PF with range and decent D all while keeping caps pace for 2015.

Boston gets quite a haul for Rondo to help with rebuilding (maybe throw a lottery protected #1 as well).

Atlanta gets C that allows Horford to move to PF.

You are completely over valuing Lin and Asik. No way in hell you get both Milsap and Rondo.

You be lucky to get Rondo + filler with Asik + Lin + Tjones. Lin and Asik just aren't rated that highly around the league that we will get good value for them at this point.

This times 100. Would rep if I could.

I presume you're talking about Rondo?
