Thanks a million, Clutch. This is so nice to have as a fan-at-a-distance.

I want to get excited about Patrick, because he's such a heady natural at the game, but I keep telling myself it's the Raptors. I know others have mentioned it, but just look at their inside players right now. I mean, they put Dorsey on the floor last night.

Happy New Year everybody! Great highlights of PP and great news.

for some reason I see Pat's picture.. I hear theme from the Jeffersons. Let's hope he's at least Landry v2.0 and hope he turns into Amare lite

Patterson is one of the quickest PF's I've seen in a very long time. He's active and all over the court with good instincts. Can't ask for more than that from a rookie.

Also I'm glad he's serious. We need a player like that. Judging from his past it seems like he has the work ethic to back up that demeanor. I think he ha leadership potential

Guess so. Patterson looks to be further than I thought, which is great.

Some players play better with more minutes - guys like Lowry for instance.

But other guys actually get worse. That's because you can't maintain that intensity for 30 minutes in the course of 2 hours. It's like running sprints. You can do it for a few minutes and look terrific, but if you have to do it again and again, even after a 5 minute or 10 minute break, you're going to come out flatter and flatter.

Landry had to learn to pace that energy as he got more and more minutes, I am sure PP will do the same. IT's about knowing when to use that energy in small bursts and not constantly burning it.

Some rebounds you just have to let go unless it's crunch time and you got take a chance on getting even if it's small.

Toronto had Joey Dorsey as the starting PF. Houston had Patterson as the backup PF. That tells you the talent levels of the two teams right there.

That Toronto has so many centers they can play the 12th targeted, quality, young, defensive C at PF?

I wish he could block more shots for us like a Josh Smith. I rather see him with 2-3 blks and 7rebs than 10rebs, 1blk.

Blocks aren't necessary. But bulldog defense like Otis Thorpe would be an enormous help.

exactly, you don't need blocks to shut a player down. just look at chuck, PP's defense is more similar to his than Smith's

What a beast. Can step out and hit the 20 footer and is an animal on the boards. Hope to see a lot more of 2PAT.

I think Patterson can make Scola expendable.

Really this team just needs a defensive center (shot blocker / rebounder) and a guy who can shoot the jump shot AND create for his team mates.

Brooks comes close but I think his decision making is holding him back.

ironic that people are comparing Patterson's style of play to Landry's because in the offseason didn't Morey say that he had planned to replace Landry through the draft?

    I don't think that's very ironic.

Morey said it. He did it. Those who were paying attention back in June acknowledged it.

It is ironic that the word "ironic" is one of the most misused words in the English language. And the previous sentence is one example of its misuse.

He reminds me of Artest in the way he hulks around on the court.
