    The draft lottery is just for the top three picks. If you do not win the "lottery" for one of the top three picks, then you fall to the slot your record dictates. The Rocket's record dictates they have the 14th pick so if there name isn't called when they announce the 14th pick(which is announced first) then they definitely have one of the top three picks.

    Answered perfectly by desihooper and cml750, but the net-net is the Rockets can only finish with the 1st pick (0.5% chance), 2nd pick (0.6% chance), 3rd pick (0.7% chance) or the 14th pick (98.2% chance).

    Was talking about this article with Bimathug last night and I thought he had a decent possibility suggestion as well -- if New Orleans lands the top pick, perhaps they would consider moving the 10th pick (from Minnesota) for a more established player.

    Hornets seem to like Scola. Maybe Scola for the 10th pick? Makes room for Motie and gives us more young players. Then we could still try to grab the 6th or 8th pick from Portland or Toronto.

    I believe the word that Feigan used was Del Demps was "enamoured" with Scola.

    If the Rockets land a top 3 pick, trade Lowry and Scola + 14 & 16 for two top ten picks, then we'd probably be in the lottery again next year, giving us a complete rebuild through the draft, along with Motie.

    This would be a glorious decade of Rockets basketball, and all Morey doubters would eat crow.

    With the 14th Pick in the 2012 NBA Draft..... The Houston Rockets select Austin Rivers.

    In the post draft interview Maury will claim he had Rivers at #6 on his big board.

    Furthermore an obligatory 60+ page thread will be born about how Rivers is the next Dwyane Wade minus the vision, defense and dark skin. CFans will clamor about how he slipped to us and how we got a steal in the draft and praise Murray as the greatest GM ever and this picture will be posted about 38 times in said 60+ page thread...

    When the season starts Rivers will be buried on the bench and then he'll have some minor injury and be sent to the D league where he will dominate games and then be called back to the team and Cfans will be excited again about what Rivers will bring to this team. Instead he plays 10 garbage minutes and doesn't do ****. People will wonder why McFail won't let the "River's Flow" when he continues to show nothing even in garbage time.

    Our season will end with a 42-40 record and you know how the rest of the story goes. Welcome to my life... as a Rockets fan :eek:

    I have the feeling (or maybe better, irrationale hope), we get a 3rd pick! Stern has screwed us last year, so maybe he can arrange us a pick as a kinda consolation prize. And since 1st pick might be a bit too much, we will get 3rd pick. Long live conspiracy theories! ;)

    You're right. The more I read about this kid and see video of him, hell, I think he'll be one of the three or four best players in this draft.

    Whichever of Portland, Toronto, or Sac (even NO) that doesn't get Lillard could be our trade team.
