Eh, I was one of the few that thought it sounded OK then. I was somewhat disappointed when it didn't happen.

Asik is becoming a black hole in so many ways for this team.

Very ironic you say this. With players like Asik, stupid GMs will never even want him. Stupid GMs see a no-offense center making $15mil next year. The dumber the GM, the more they buy into the hype that clutchfans and the national media adheres to and calling Asik not worth it. Bad GMs think like fans. Good GMs think at a level higher than fans, which is why what they do becomes impressive to fans.

Generally Morey eats GMs that think like fans for breakfast. But the problem is that when you're trying to trade away a player that's only valuable in the minds of smart people, dumb GMs are your worst enemy.

That's a really long time for Omer to screw this team over. They can't move on until he is gone from the team.

Indeed. It's funny people think Morey lies all the time, when in reality he almost always do exactly what he says. He failed to accomplish many things he wanted to do, and he obviously doesn't say everything. But if he says something, you can generally believe it. If he says Asik is likely to remain a Rocket, then it means you won't see a trade for Asik unless it's actually a "fair" deal.

Bad GMs don't recognize the defensive impact of a big center like Asik especially shown what he could do last season?

A defensive big man is and always will be extremely valued in this league. You are using the notion that Morey usually gets the better end of deals to portray other GMs around the league as toddlers in a position of power. To say that other GMs around the league don't value the impact of a defensive center like Asik is a pretty baseless statement to make. They just don't believe he's worth 2 first rounders (as morey wouldn't either if he was in their position).

Virtually every player that would meet the requirements of the bolded part is on Miami, San Antonio, Indiana, or Golden State. All teams that would never that don't need Asik, cannot afford him, and/or wouldn't let Morey pull the wool over their eye.

More likely, an Asik trade will be part of a larger trade for "3rd Superstar" or for Picks/Euros.

You misunderstood. I'm not talking about trading Asik for that guy. The two points go together. Getting Asik back playing like he was last year AND making a tweak trade or signing of a 3&D guy. No, they all aren't on San Antonio. There's one in Utah (Rush). There's good 3&D players in many places.

The sad part is that it doesn't have to be that way. They have all the right pieces to go deep. Just need a new coach and different playing philosophy.

Dragic is not a star. He's just in a good system right now. If he was on our team he would be in the same exact position with Harden as PG.

Morey's biggest mistake was choosing the coach over Lowry. He should have done everything in his power to keep Lowry.

We got a lottery pick for Lowry and that pick was the basis for acquiring Harden. You make that deal every day of the week.

I would bet anything that Asik will NOT be with the Rockets for the duration of his contract. If nothing else, he would be traded at mid-season next year as an expiring contract. But I think he will be gone by this trade deadline.

    Mis-understood the first part.

But disagree with Rush. He is still trying to come back from bad ACL tear and cannot get any minutes on a Utah team that is not doing much of anything. If you are looking at Brandon Rush as a player the Rockets can target for a 3pt shooter/defender, then you are looking for players who are not sure bets/unproven and are just as likely to not pan out.

Realistically, that is the Rockets' current position to build a bench, unless they draft a few more gems.

I think Morey is actually telling Asik and his agent about Rockets plan.

Think about it, if rockets are willing to keep Asik til his contract is up, basically we are using him as salary dump or trade to some team that are interested in him as same. He will have no future value in the NBA. a player that is going into his prime and get rusted sitting on the bench.

Morey is calling the Buff on Asik. Are you willing to play as backup and perhaps then your value will high enough to be traded. Or, continue to act like a baby and this will be your last NBA check/contract.

Morey is passing the ball back onto Asik's court.

Chinese bandwagon fans are a joke, I'd give Lin up in a heartbeat for a bag of chips if you assholes leave with him.
