Just at a glance I believe you may have had the best draft as far as filling needs and drafting talented players (not saying my opinion matters).

Donte is ranked in my top 4 of best receivers in this draft (Watkins, Benjamin, and Richardson are the other 3). He doesn't have the eye popping #'s but practically every time he's faced NFL caliber DB's _ he burned them. He's the "Andre Johnson" of this draft but unlike Dre he has top end speed.

Besides blowing their 1st round pick on a ball dropping receiver I think the Philly GM had a great draft as well.

Couldn't disagree more. OBJ is my number two, behind Watkins. WR is loaded with talent this year. I like a lot of them, Lee, Cooks, Matthews and Lattimore especially. But leaving OBJ out of your top 4 is ridiculous imo.

I agree Phi has had a good draft, in part because the have snagged players I was hoping to get later in the same round (especially Attaochu... he is going to be a monster).

Just because I don't have OBJ in my top 4 doesn't mean I don't think he will be good. But OBJ was on the field with another top rated receiver in this draft so it was hard for opposing defenses to key on him. Plus LSU has an excellent running game. As fast as Cook is _ he has trouble getting separation when facing top corners. Evans played with Johnny and Johnny scrambles a lot giving him time to get open (and if Johnny can't read defenses _ Evans probably can't either).

I just believe the receivers in my top 4 are plug and play guys and have less bust potential than the others. It's several receivers in this draft I like but receiver is the biggest bust potential position in the NFL IMO..

San Francisco may need to draft an OLB... I wonder if the Texans would have drafted Smith if he fell to them and passed on J.J... Scary thought.

Pittsburgh Steelers select Donald Hawkins, OT, Texas

They need help on the right side of the line and will get it with an athletic tackle in Hawkins.

    Next up Dallas Cowgirls (Anhero)

I agree with you on Evans, I didn't include him myself. Not saying he won't be good, by he is a boom or bust player to me, and I'm leaning towards bust.

I understand that he had help, but from watching tape on these receivers, I think OBJ got the whole package. Great route running, good hands, quick and athletic. From watching tape, I thought he was fast, but I doubted his top speed. But he showed me otherwise in the combine. Creates after the catch. Very fluid and reliable overall. He improved every year, which is what you want during their time at the college level. I think he can start from day one and be a differencemaker. Well, that's it for my lovefest. lol

I know... seems that the timing of the Smith news didn't work very well for me (I had my eyes on Murphy, but misjudged where he would go.. I also considered Will Clarke afterwords). I have a few possibilities still to come, but another position that could use a pick in R4 or R5 is QB...

Going to take a chance on...

    Colt Lyerla.

He is a first or second round talent but can't seem to stay out of trouble.

His worst regular season game was against Stanford (a good defense) and still had 80 yards and a TD. You could say he had a bad game against Boise State in the Hawaii Bowl with only 60 yards off 8 catches, but he also had a TD reception.

So... pretty happy with him at 1-30, and I have a hunch he goes earlier in the round.

I liked my Steelers draft more so than my Texans draft.

I admit I was having fun and choosing a few guys on a whim for us. Doubt we take Teddy 1st overall and Cyrus may not be our 2nd pick. Should have taken Lawrence in the 3rd tho. That really hurt that Atlanta scooped them up soon after the Niklas pick.

Evans at 15 is a steal no way he drops that low. And their defense and offensive lines improved exponentially with the draft. They always find good talent in later rounds.
