    Yes

And Lin's physical skills also include seeing the floor extremely well and having good size for a point guard, along with his speed/quickness, etc.

i'd disagree with mediocre decision making. he made great decisions most of the time even before his time with the rox.

toro i blame you for me still being awake. i woke up at 0500 hours this morning. GREAt discussions, would've been much beeter if i was more alert n intelligent

i always preferred applied stats over pure mathematical stats because it's much more useful in real life. that being said, i actually did exactly what you described in putting in minimal efforts for maximal gains in gpa while in college and grad school. and i think lin is much smarter than i am (i went to ut austin butt lin went to fcking harvard) so no way he cound not have realized that and used it in practice.

I am not talking about points I am talking about efficiency. Would Lin still be as efficient as he is right now as a starter? Maybe not maybe yes. But if he drops (most likely) he will still be shooting at scoring at a very efficient level.
I don't see how his respect on the team is a lot higher. If his respect on the team was high he probably would be starting. I do see a difference between Lin last year and Lin right now.
    1) Improved health
    2) improved shot
Him being on the bench had nothing to do with this new Lin seeing as how he expected to be starting coming into this season.
Maybe being on the bench gave him a chip on his shoulder. Sure. But as a starter he would still be playing at a above average level which is what we need from him and what he produced last year post ASB

Lin does not fit to Mchale's system. After Asik's trade, next one is Lin

Yeah....I doubt Houston will want to trade Lin (unless it's something good) if he keeps playing at this level. Pretty hard to find a bench player that can give you 20+ points on any given night. However, Lin will probably leave Houston after his contract anyways...if he continues his great playing and is still a bench player.

i doubt that. after asik, next one is more likely to be mchale than lin.

Lin won't be traded unless the organization is 100% sure they're going to get someone clearly better in return (and anyone better than Lin is probably a Top 10 guard).

There is no way JLin gets traded..they cannot afford to let him go, even at his "expensive price". He is more valuable to the team than the $$ they are paying him.

Not just from the basketball operations point of view. JLin is also a cash cow for Les, especially with all those Asian deals and connections already in place during the time of Yao Ming and T-Mac

TV coverage etc. Since Lin arrived, it opens up the market value due to increase coverage for houston's game on Asian region.

Fact is the team is better with him on the bench. The team stats show it, it's obvious when you watch the game, and his numbers are better too.

Not sure about that. We usually have crappy starts. Probably cuz of TT though. I think they just want to stagger minutes. If he was some sort of robot who never tired, he would probably be starting.

it's nice change of pace coming from the bench.
at first my worry was, if lin didn't startl this offense would be filled with individuals and little ball movement leading to low assists for everyone.

That turned out to be the case, but you can get to the finals playing a scotty brooks offense, we just have to get it very good at it.

By the time lin is in, he can make any hesitation move to the basket and he will most likely be shooting freebies because of the damage the H&H boys have done to the opposing defense.

No way lin continues to shoot so highly, but when it comes down it will probably still be 46% from the field and 39% from threeville. I don't like that our guards drift off from their man to get their 5 rebounds but all three do it so that's what they're wanting from them. it's not just a solo act.

I remmember seeing a documentary about Lin, in the end Lin was asked how does he want to be remmembered after retirement, he said something like he wants to be remmembered playing basketball the right way.

I like Lin,I mean it's hard to not like the guy, but he clearly doesn't fit we'll with Harden' s game. Whose side is the right way of playing basketball? I don't know. But no matter, Lin will be the one gone eventually.

Came across a Knicks board, they seriously want Lin back.

I miss the guy. We need him. Hopefully it's possible we can regain him in free agency in 2015. i think Lin can be had right now. Rockets are looking for a stretch 4 and they really like Beverly. Plus Brooks and Cannaan is on the bench. I say approach them with a Bargs/Felton package for Asik/Lin. Dwight and Bargs can cover up each others warts. I would also try to see if we can get Greg smith.

Yes, this is what I'm talking about. This can be done guys, 'cause Houston's acting kinda stupid right now. The thing is, when we've acted not smart, instead of being bummed, we should look for others that are kinda dumb. Houston's dumber than we at this time. They'll seriously do a deal that I think FOR ONCE we'll come out way ahead. It's seriously possible.

Now I'm not sure if that's the rest of league think of how Lin is valuated/ treated by the rox franchise right now, that we d dump him for frigging Felton.

We put the guy on the bench, of course the rest of the league thinks we don't like him.
