I've actually grew quite fond of McHale (including his game management decisions tonight) and then the way he responded to this question is turning me off again.

Ok, the team is up and down but tonight is an up night so can't you be just a tad more positive? Instead, he says you know this could be every night if only the players execute. Well then.

I don't think he was very happy the last few games. This game was so fun to watch than the last few games when Harden was in. It felt like the 7 game losing streak.

If harden or parsons was playing, Mcfail would not hesitate to put them in the 4th. Feels like he doesnt want Lin or Asik to be a savior.

 

I think tonight he reminded himself of how he likes to play and what fun he has when he does play his brand of basketball. I gotta say I think Asik and Smith like this brand of basketball too.

 

Lin and Harden got the same haircut, talk about comradery.

McHale's post game interview was most interesting. At 1:35 when he was asked by the reporter to discussed Lin's play tonight, McHale cut the reporter off and changed the topic to how young the team was. I have no idea what to make of that.

Agreed; Westbrook, Harden and Durant did just fine with Ibaka and Perkins.

 

Lol, that's because when Beverley is in, Lin is no longer a point guard, he's a bench warmer...

 

That whole spacing the floor for the drivers is really just inaccurate.

First of all, if your big man is setting a pick for example...there is your space to drive.

Sure if you call no plays and have them just sit down in the paint they will clog it up. But if your offense has any kind of motion than they will not. NBA has been using traditional PFs much longer than these stretch 4s.

Maybe that Grizzlies game was a good lesson, because McHale seems reluctant to go small since. He had a true PF in the game the entire time tonight, no Delfino at the 4 finally.

 

Bev was terrible today and Lin was still benched and limited to just 30 min. Mchale has some issues with Lin.

 

If you notice everytime Lin does well, a game or 2 later Mchale starts to bench him. He really doesn't like Lin getting a lot of props. Maybe he was a lin hater last season since Linsanity got all the media hype and Mchale looked dumb for suggesting Jeremy be cut.
