Asik is notably worse the more minutes he plays.

I think he gets tired quickly.

He is averaging 30 mpg, which is plenty considering his size.

Possible, but that's going to look very stupid for Les. Waived, then pay the guy big bucks, then ship him out the next year?

    You guys missed another nugget.

He said something like "... In this game, I am THE point guard, rather than A point guard. Of course, I like it...."

Since Beverley played tonight, his comment is not about Beverley but about the absence of Harden.

It is probably common knowledge that a point guard like to play like a point guard, rather than sharing pointing guard duty with the shooting guard. But it is still good to hear what Jeremy feels.

    1. I think it was Howard Chen who asked Lin "Without James and Chandler, things weren't supposed to be so easy. So how did it get so easy tonight?"

Jeremy gave a polite answer, but the real answer is "Dude, we are playing ****ty Orlando."

    2. OMG, Greg Smith is on hyper-speed mode tonight.

The 4th quarter group (especially before Smith subbed in for Robinson) was indeed horrible. Everything just bogged down.

True to all of this. I like how candid and honest Jeremy was in this interview.

Greg always talks super fast, I always gotta watch his interviews at least twice to catch everything he says :p

I didn't watch tonight's game, but I just wanted to say that I don't have a problem with McHale benching Lin in the 4th quarter when Beverley is playing better than Lin. I have a problem with McHale benching Lin in the 4th quarter when Lin is playing better than Beverley.

It won't be Lowry 2.0 because Jeremy won't openly rebel.

But from last season and the last two teams, it is clear that Jeremy excelled in a system where there are open crisp movement on offense and also a dedicated defensive team.

That is not going to happen here.

McHale wants a quick possession fast paced game. Defense is not going to be emphasized.

Harden is a dynamic scorer who can also create for others, you can't have people moving all over the place when he is trying to score (he needs to know where you are if he does need to pass to you).

Jeremy just needs to adapt. It will be good for his growth to be able to excel in different kinds of systems.

I think he's been shooting over 40% from three since Feb. Pretty drastic improvement from the 26% he was shooting in November.

I also noticed that Jeremy's responses are specific. He doesn't give vague, cliché type of answers.

He started exposing his true feeling about being THE point guard then switched gears quickly and started talking about Harden and his importance. Maybe backpedaling is a better word to describe it.

Yeah he is a team player and probably will capitulate to the coaches without much resistance but it is still interesting to hear him actually say that he wants to be THE point guard and that he does not appreciate the bench playing over him in the fourth. Good to hear that he is still hungry. If Mchale is a good coach he will adapt the system to maximize both Lin and Harden if Lin continues to develop. I think the playoffs this year will be trial by fire for the current offensive philosophy.

I feel the same way about this as well. Sometimes when Lin is playing like
crap throwing lazy passes to the other team and out of control, he needs
to be benched. But when he is playing well, let the guy play his mins.

I love the candid interview. THE point guard, not just a pg. No PC BS.
