I'm warming up to the idea of a trade with the Celtics as long as its for the right pieces.

Keith Bogans has two more fully unguaranteed years on his contract at 5.2M & 5.5M. Good trade asset. Package him with either Olynyk or Faverani and picks.

Love & Aldridge have 1 more year on their contracts. Love can opt out of 2015-16. All it takes is another first round exit for Aldridge and no playoffs again for Love.

I think it's going to be a deadline deal. Morey is dragging his feet hoping something pops up. This is not a good sign, BTW.

It can be tough to make a deal when he and his staff have as many contingent deals on the table as they purportedly do when approaching deadline day.

I think as you look at how it all developed, a slam dunk trade wasn't likely. On the other hand, I think Morey would wait till the final hours no matter what was on the table.

What IF there is no deal? What's the impact to Houston besides a very unhappy Asik?

Any contingent assets received in a future Asik deal cannot be moved until after the trade moratorium in the Summer.

What do we lose even if we don't trade Asik? Morey is going to squeeze it, just see.

I hope you're right, because it's looking like it's going to be scraps and a protected first.

    Or perhaps

Houston gets Hawes and Bradly (but no pick)
    Boston gets Asik
Philly gets filler and a first from Boston

Asik to Boston, Hawes and Lee to Houston, Humphries and Smith to Philli. Picks would be exchanged naturally...no idea how. I think I have the players right though.

Works on Trade Machine, Boston get a elite defensive center, we get our back-up big and perimeter defender who can shoot and handle the ball. Played well under Mchale when he was with us. Philli get a young big and an expiring contract.

Beyond Atlanta, Boston, Cleveland and Philadelphia, I know there's one more significant team in Asik mix. "A wildcard," a source says.
