If Tyus Jones is the BPA at #18, I would expect us to trade for a future first and perhaps another second rounder.

I certainly can live with that. Having the second pick in the second round trumps it, in my humble opinion. Thanks, Knicks!

So we have the #32 draft pick this year because of the Marcus Camby trade in 2012 right?

    Correct-

That was the training camp where Les had to eat something like 7 million dollars in guaranteed salary in order to acquire those picks and the incoming salary they had to waive from this trade, and the Courtney Lee S&T. Anytime someone tries to make a case that Les is cheap, they need to go back and revisit that year's training camp salary situation.

...and using that one-time provision to dump Scola.

Add to that the Omer trade which basically yielded Ariza, Terry and the 18th pick and you start to get an idea of how good Morey is. He truly does see a few steps ahead of everyone else.

What's funny is we ended up trading perhaps the least valuable of all our picks in that Lin deal. The NOP pick is 9 slots higher, and the NYK pick is almost like a 1st round pick without a guaranteed contract.

I really thought that would come back to bite us, but we came out ok. Maybe we could have used it to make a deadline deal, but it's not like that was the difference between us getting Dragic or not.
