    Game. Set. Match

    Totally agree.

You get the big rocks in first(that being the 3rd star), and little rocks follow. These 3 & D guys, these gritty veterans they chase...they follow the lead. They aren't the ones you pay for.

Beverely is perfectly fine starting at PG for us at 2-3mil/yr, the most prominent issue is getting that 3rd star/2nd scoring option.

If our 4th option can be Chandler Parsons(or if he has to go get that 3rd one), a 6th man that can put up 12-15ppg but most importantly CREATE on his own, we're dynamic. Right now we have 2.5 players that can get their own shots. We need 3.5 players that can do that, and then we need a significantly improved defense.

Look at these end of game lineups:

    Bosh
    Shard
    LeBron
    Ray
    Wade

    Duncan
    Diaw
    Kawhi
    Manu
    Parker

All teams have 4 fringe all-star/past-timers that are legitimate THREATS with the ball. The 5th guy(Diaw and Shard) are not to be ignored. Ray and Kawhi are that .5 star right now. Duncan/Manu/Parker and Lebron/Wade/Bosh are those 3 big rocks.

I wouldn't be so pessimistic about Bosh. We've already got an established relationship with him, and all it takes is two more losses and the Heat (as presently constructed) will be no more. LeBron is not going to stick around and allow his potential legacy to implode. Wade is not going to get better.

The real question left to us, however, is where will LeBron go? After all....NO ONE will sign until he makes a decision. Wherever he goes has to be better than where he is now. For that, I don't have a good answer.

I'd also add that before he signed with the Heat, the rumor was that Bosh wanted to play next to a great center who could take some of the pressure off him on the defensive end.

You are very delusional if you think our defensive problems are solved by bringing Melo at 4 and adding a Sefolosha off the bench. Have in mind we are potentially losing Omer Asik, a big defensive weapon.

That team, even with Sefolosha (if you can get him for the biannual, very doubtful) plus some minimum contracts, it would be a WORSE defensive team than this years team. Likely we would be getting worse at our biggest need.

Super elite offensive power it means not that much if you keep allowing 120 points per playoff game.

We would be no Miami Heat. People need to realize that their big three are each one of them effective defenders, as well as almost every player from their rotation. Miami has won 2 titles since an ELITE defense.

A Rockets team with Harden, Melo, Parsons, starting, plus a new bench plagued of minimum contracts, couldn't be by any means a solid defensive team.

I agree that an spacing PF it would improve the team, for sure. But again, you can't overlook your biggest need. And if you are getting worse at your biggest need by improving another part of the game (spacing in this case)... you're absolutely overlooking it.

we also would never "need" a basket if we held the opponent to zero points. well actually we would still need one.

Sometimes you are going to be down a bucket at the end of games. I would think just about every championship team faces those situations in the payoffs.

The lack of defense at the 4 killed us.

In the Western Conference, you have:

    Davis
    Love
    Lee
    Aldridge
    Duncan
    Ibaka
    Favors
    Randolph
    Griffin
    Dirk

And we have no power forward that can guard any of them. Get a better defensive power forward, and we will have a better team, and ultimately a better season.

What killed us was the deadly combination of lack of spacing on the offense end combined with lack of defensive iq and awareness on the defense end from the 4 spot.

Then let's hope Miami loses in the Finals and let's go get Chris Bosh, because he would improve us in so many areas. Defense. Veteran leadership. Spacing. Backup 5. Etc.

If Morey doesn't get melo I wouldn't be surprised if we see a Lowry + Ppat back as rockets.

I know people don't like ppat but all we need at the 4 is someone who plays average D, can rebound, can hit the mid range & the 3, set picks for harden\lowry, he would be a solid 5th option playing next to Howard. Would fit the system perfect & has a big body to bang down low

Lowry will help Harden with the ball handling duties & still play solid D. 2 playmakers up top would be idea. Still have shooters ppat and parsons as shooters. Parsons can focus more on D "which we know he can play" since his playmaking skills won't be needed.

I would argue a STAR PF (BOSH) and then a D first guy at the 3, and keep bev as a starter would work also. But Lowry/ppat would be a more complete team, Morey seems like he's set at keeping parsons anyway

    Lowry
    Harden/Daniels
    Parsons/"a offense first backup 3, not a D first 3"
    Ppat
    Howard

If Morey can't secure Lebron, Love, Bosh, Melo, Dirk...or some other unnamed superstar....he's not going to blow his ammo on Kyle Lowry. Mark my words. If we can't get a superstar now...he'll hold steady, try to flip Asik, #25, and possibly even _ones/DMo for future draft picks, hang onto Lin until we can dump him for nothing at the trade deadline, and sign minimum salary players to fill out the roster. If he can't get a superstar this summer...he's gonna hold out to get one next summer or at the trade deadline. He's not going to lock himself in to long-term contracts that he can't move to create cap space.

What about parsons ? It's clear he's ready to get paid, do you think morey will pick up his $1mill option another year, after parsons is thinking he's getting paid now & risk him leaving 2015 ?

Or will he go ahead and sign some other players if he strikes out then resign parsons ?

I know nothing has been signed on paper yet but I feel like morey is serious about locking in him this summer

If Morey can't move Asik and Lin out before July 1 or at least have deals agreed to to send Asik and Lin out after the moratorium then he will exercise Parsons option. There's no way Morey will run Parsons through restricted free agency without knowing he's got a superstar lined up to come here and then lose his shot at 2015 free agency.

Lack of a play maker hurt us worse than a PF. If we had a quality pg, he would have have got us going when Harden was burnt out. Going forward however, I will say no to the Loves and Anthonys of the NBA. Without a quality pg who can demand and get the ball from Harden whenever he wants, we aint going no where. Else, it will be the same thing next season without a quality pg

Is the consensus that trades will happen before the draft or just before July 1st?
