Ugh as a fan in Asia I badly wanted a Saturday game 1

 

Ryno you better be ready. He played very well vs this team during the season.

 

3) That is a good thing, especially with Ryno still nursing a sore ankle. Although the flipside is if this was a Saturday afternoon or evening game, the T'Wolves would've had a quick turnaround after their OT win against Denver and their ability to prep for this series would've been limited.

4) That's not true. In 2015, we had a Saturday night game vs the Mavs to open that series. In 2016, we started the Warriors series on a Saturday afternoon. It was only last year that we had a similar Sunday night start vs the Thunder.

Anyway, annoying scheduling aside(Game 2 isn't until Wednesday?!), the Rockets need to pummel Minnesota in Game 1. Crush their spirits and don't give them any hope in this series.

An extra day to prepare won’t be the difference between Minnesota winning or losing Game 1. If it is then we have bigger problems.

And actually that is true. Since we’ve had Harden we’ve had 4 Sunday opening round games compared to just 2 Saturday games. 4-6. I’d say my “almost always” line is pretty accurate.

 

This is where the fun begins

 

If you go back to 2013 and 2014, then yes. But in recent years, it's really only 2017 and this season where we were stuck with Sunday night openers. I personally hate those, but what's even more annoying is that Game 2 isn't til Wednesday and then Game 3 isn't til Saturday. Portland and New Orleans will have played Game 4 in their first round series BEFORE we(and OKC and Utah) play Game 3 in ours. That's absurd.

I think the schedule works out great! We get the extra day of rest for the guys and Luc AND we get two days off in between games which means we only play 3 games in a week!

The schedule is irrelevant as far as Luc is concerned. He's out for this entire series regardless. The spaced out first 3 games does help with guys like Ryno and EG who are nursing sore ankles.

I guess I'm just thinking of the second round. If this series started sooner and we won in 5 games(like we did vs the Mavs in 2015 and OKC last year), we'd get more time off before the Semifinals. Not that this would guarantee anything. It helped the Rockets against the Spurs in 2017, but was meaningless against the Clippers in 2015.

 

That and physical fitness.

Get healthy, re-focus, and remember defense first will set the tone for victory.
