The Rockets system is not just shoot 3's. The Rockete shot very poorly on 2 point attempts and lost the free throw and turnover battle.

Both analysts are missing the big picture. Mchale changed from run and gun to half court offense. They took a succesful playing style and decided to go back to their old ways. Kind of like asking Drew Brees to hand the ball off to the RB 80% of the time rather than passing the ball.

You did notice that the Rockets were making a run when TD came into the game. The ball movement was much better, and it was throwing off the opposing team's offense. The minute we went ISO harden again, it stagnated.

3 point shooting isn't what killed us.

The Team shot 25.8% from behind the arc on 8/31 3 point attempts. That works out to 38.7% eFG.

The Team shot 17/47 from 2 point range, or 36.17%. We were actually getting better results from our 3 point than our 2 point shooting.

Take a look at the shot chart... http://espn.go.com/nba/shotchart?gameId=400278317

The Rockets missed a TON of shots in the paint, and in the mid range.

What also hurt us is 5 more turn overs than Minnesota (22 points), AND we had a TEN foul differential... IE, we put Minnesota in the Bonus WAY Too early (7 FT differential).

While our sub-par 3 point shooting hurt us, it was far from the primary reason for the loss.

Run and gun works when you defend and rebound well .

True. We did rebound more than they did at Minny, but we didn't run. We had 43 rebounds as a team vs 37 for minny. We also had 21 offensive boards vs minny's 9. We also had 8 steals vs Minnesota's 4. So yes, we did rebound better and had more steals. Also, when we run, it makes their defenses weak because they are out of place. Our 120 point games is down to 80. I don't think we regressed this much if we stuck to the same exact plan. Rather, we went back to the old offense at the beginning of the season. Pathetic.

If we loose against the Bobcats, the management needs to do something with this coaching staff because it is not working.

Bobcats is not an easy team to beat...they're a defensive team.

After this loss, I am really not sure when this losing streak will end. We can not beat a D-league team anymore.

Rockets going from great to watch to painful to watch. The coach staffs need to reassess the player's strength. Especially Lin and Harden. Everyone know they can score if they are the primary ball handler. The different is Lin can only play PG while Harden can play both PG/SG. Why just have Lin (or others) take the ball to half court and then hand it over to Harden, then everyone go to the 3s and position themselves for the pass.

    1. Predictable offense.
    2. Horrible defense.
    3. Heavy minutes for starters.
    4. Too tired because of 3 and our run&gun style
    5. Questionable rotation. Asik on the bench in the 4th quarter all the time.
    6. Too many sloppy turn-overs.

I find it funny that the Trailblazers are having their own little losing streak,lol... They must've caught the Laker bug from us since we played them twice this season...

Have any of you guys notice that the coaching staff has forced the ball on Harden regardless of how bad he's played all while stagnating Lin and Parsons? Check out these numbers:

    Vs Clippers, Lin: 5-11FG
    Parsons: 7-10 FG
    Harden: 8-20 FG

    Vs. Mavericks, Lin: 6-13 FG
    Parsons: 6-14 FG
    Harden: 5-23 FG

    Vs Indiana, Lin: 4-7 FG
    Parsons: 6-9
    Harden: 5-19

Granted against the Twolves, no one was doing better, but you noticed that Lin and Parsons stayed on the bench to start the second half while Harden started? With these numbers, one would think that Harden should have come off the bench in the second half. It also tells me that the coaches are going back to Sampson's non democratic ball when we know that we were a 500 team then. When we run and gun we will score a whole lot more points. This is the reason why we're losing guys. We're not playing democratic ball that got us 120 points a game. We're going back to the sh!tty offense we had in the beginning of the year.

Someone needs to tell the coaching staff that iso harden ain't the way to go.

You go tdougie, question that coaching staff! He brought a lot of energy last night and deserves to be a backup to harden at least

he is our #1. he is the team leader and played most mins in nba besides delfino. he gets paid to carry this team. i don't care how other players are getting smashed on this board. harden is responsible for this team failure. if he doesn't feel players surrouding him help him, he should talk to the FO.

I always thought it was about winning? If something doesn't work, don't stick w/ it.

What the hell did yall expect? We are the youngest team in the NBA. We had a nice little run but young teams with no experience are very inconsistent. People want to blame harden or lin but this is the qualms of a team that hasn't played a full season together.

He's the 1# option and he's only 23, if anything he needs to learn. I have no problem with, but it's shocking the coaching staffs played him almost 40 mins every single night including back to backs.

    Not liking that at all.
