ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Thunder 11/8/2018

The game was a bit back and forth until the end of the 2nd when Rockets went down 15. I went to bed.

Good call by me.

 

Wow. As a long time Rockets fan I have this sinking feeling in my gut that the problems this team has right now can't be solved. At least not this season. Paul looks like he fell off a cliff over the summer. Carmelo is an efficient converter of oxygen to carbon dioxide but that is about it. Eric Gordon. I don't know what happened to him. The team. There just is not enough talent to compete. No one can shoot, not reliably. That clogs the middle like a truck stop sh*tter. James can't operate. It's depressing to be 1 win from the finals just a few months ago to this dumpster fire. Has MDA's scheme gotten old and exposed? If there is a bright side I am all eyes and ears cause I don't see one. When I watch a game I want to be entertained for a couple of hours. Get out of the reality of life. Be entertained (you can be entertained and lose). But there is nothing entertaining about this uninspired used diaper of a product trotting out there. Do the players even care?

I can watch when the Rockets suck. I've been through many mediocre and even bad Rockets seasons. What I can't deal with is watching the Rockets when they just aren't putting forth the effort to win. If they can't be bothered to try, I've better things to do. And goodness. 80 points when the league is averaging like 110 points right now?

 

Is CP3's wrist/elbow thingy, whatever it is, a result of punching Rondo's thick skull? There's something obviously off about him. He didn't hardly even shoot in the first half, and when he did shoot in the game, he sucked. I doubt he suddenly aged so drastically once he got paid.

EGO either has a sore leg or a "sore leg" (trade bait?) In any case, the trade rumors are a distraction.

Melo couldn't toss the ball into the ocean while sitting in a rowboat.

Also, this team plays poorly when given time off.

Not to keep offering excuses, but they better right the ship PDQ. Granted, Milwaukee slam-dunked GS last night, so bad losses can happen, but I'm getting to the point where my expectations are drastically altered for the season.

 

i hope everyone will be healthy when we play worriers next week. if we get blown out, Morey may finally realize we ain't winning shxt and trade everyone to rebuild around Hargod.

 

Well credit to Paul George. Felt like he made every three to get the lead up and we kinda quit after that.

 

Terrible performance, this team just sucks. CP looks washed. Their offensive struggles are mostly self inflicted. They should be much better on that end, they just aren't executing and playing with purpose, and the missing shots is all between the ears.

 

All American on The CW is pretty, pretty good. The OC meets Friday Night Lights with black people.

Like I was saying. Spurs have their own sense of urgency to play well. And they are at home. Rockets did themselves no favors putting up that effort vs OKC with Spurs/Pacers B2B looming.

 

So......litmus test failed. Steven Adams once again owns the Rockets soul.

This would all be easier to accept if we'd finished better last year.
