Didn't watch the game, but the bench holy cow what an effort. I've never seen a coach have enough confidence in the bench to play them the whole 4th quarter, but it has paid off for McHale two straight games. We are beating teams with our bench pretty much singlehandedly. Amazing effort.
If we are playing this well without our top scorer and starting center being worth nothing, what will we be like when they do hit stride? Saying the bench continues that level of play and K-Mart and Dally step up, hello 2nd seed??
You know, I thought about that, namely what would happen if starters and the bench were all playing as a cohesive unit? What would happen if Dally was blocking shots and rebounding like he was early in the season? If Martin was taking and hitting his fair share of shots? Well, it would probably means a bit less minutes for this incredible bench, but we could definitely be a high seed team come playoff time if the above were to happen. So, starters, let's get with the program!
well knowing the rockets, once kmart gets out of the slump, the bench will go cold. It's how it works. we will still make the playoffs and get out of the first round.
Our bench was +20 last night, while our starters were -20 to -15 Starters will respond with a good game soon, they are professionals and have pride and don't wanna be showed up. But the last three games has shown Kevin Martin should not be a starter in the league...He's too much of a liability when he's not scoring in bunches. There's a reason all the teams where he's been an important starter has been mediocre at best.
Wow. Just wow. I don't even like Martin that much and even I know this statement is insanity. Every front office in the NBA knows Martin is a starting caliber shooting guard, and he would be the best SG on more than half of the teams out there. On the teams where there are better options he would be traded because he's too valuable to sit on the bench. Stop knee-jerking. He's in a shooting slump. It happens.
I'm hoping Kevin Martin' slumps paves the way for efficient scoring explosions if and when we make the play-offs.
He doesn't do all the little things that are important at that position. He's probably best as a sixth man off the bench. You put him with the 08-10 Celtics instead of Ray Allen, I don't think they're as good.
