To be fair, our offense looked anemic on top of the fact that Spurs defended us well. There was very little spacing, too many 3's, too many ISO plays and slow movement in general by the offense. This would make it easy for any team to defend us.
The Spurs game showed us that our opponents dont respect our guards jumpshots...they went under a lot of screens...daring them to shoot...Harden tried fighting through the double and had shots fall when he didnt...Lin hesitates picks up his dribble on the screen and has to reset...Watch for this next time...Lin uses Asik for the screen.. goes to the right, gets cut off and then he picks up his dribble...throws it back to Asik and is forced to reset... Lin has to maintain his dribble...probe the teeth of the defense and take shots when he is given it...There was a thread about the fact that the Rockets dont like Mid range jumpers...but maybe that is where Lin needs to start...In order to knock down the harder long distance shot...he needs to knock down mid range shots...
I feel bad for the Rockets that game. I really feel bad for Harden. I think it was Bullard who mentioned that Harden was trying everything to get his teammates involved, but they couldn't make a shot. Harden was making his shots. It's not a good feeling to have that many open shots and not be able to knock them down. It's also not a good feeling to pass to your teammates over and over again and they can't finish the play. I trust that this won't be too much of a regular occurrence. Sometimes you're just off. That's all there is to it.
