You don’t think Brooks or Donavan tried to implement “structure”? You don’t think Durant or Paul George told him to drive more and shoot less?

C’mon man. Westbrook is who he is and isn’t changing for anybody or anything. That should be obvious by now.

Agreed. The playbook on MDA is well established. Great regular season coach, super short rotations and key failures in the playoffs or "clutch" moments.

Harden play after that missed call on his dunk was unexcusbale,

He was 9/21 (wrongfully) after that play....He proceeded to go 2 for 17.

    Unreal.

Not disagreeing that Westbrook is a bone head but the guys you just mentioned aren't exactly lighting it up as coaches.

gordon is a guy that can do harden lite stuff. russ is good when harden is on the court. so i predict he will be with gordon n jim on the 2nd unit....plus im never confident when house isnt available. would be that bad if we had gordon. but gprdon n house...yikes

The point is Westbrook does the same things he’s always done regardless of coach or teammates. Won’t ever change and will continue to be who he always has been.

Harden is supposedly at the peak of his powers right now, one of the greatest scorers ever according to you, but look at his moves with the ball at the end of the fourth and the overtimes outside of the free throws he got. He has like 2 or 3 moves, and that's it. This is not going to work in the postseason. We see it every year, his 3-ball doesn't fall as regularly and the free throws don't come as regularly, and paint points also are harder to come by. What's his counter when those options aren't working for him?

This game was the personification of everything negative about harden and westbrook.

It was a harden and westbrook haters dream.

That's the thing! Brooks and Biilly D had an offensive structure! It wasn't all ISO then a couple PnR plays. Russ' speed was utilized within a system since his ISO game is AWFUL. He was more effective running a play knowing where someone is supposed to be or receiving a pick.

I have watched a lot of Westbrook due to 2 years of hate watching. People think he is making **** up on the fly, but he knows where his players should be and what they should be doing.

Here in Houston, Russ has no idea what anyone is supposed to be doing besides standing at the 3 point line.

Having rabbit ears may make for nifty memes in a media-driven league but it doesn't help his cause. With all due respect- shut up and take your 24/24.

Moreyball doesnt have to be inflexible it is Dumbtoni who is inflexible and robust to adapt to the changes on the court. Do you realize Nick Nurse came to Houston precisely to learn about Moreyball because he was a big analytics geek? Look at Toronto offense now no Kawhi, no HOF playmaker but still pretty efficient and dynamic. Nurse took the principles of Moreyball but he doesnt adhere to every single precept it like a machine.

Thats cuz unlike Dumbtoni Nurse actually coaches his team instead of just teaching them a system and letting those guys figure everything out.

they would be if they could play 49 mins. we hav3 the worst b3nch in the game. remember that. when harden sits th3 offense dies. a big reason is the guys that are in the with russ dont really fit his game. that why im always saying we should get brewer instead of thabo. i know it sounds crazy. but im alwqys lookinh how we maximaze a guy not hey what does russ do bad. i like being a problem solver.

he needs guys that run n cut.

if u notice he does alot of drop off passes. he not a good shooter we all knpw that so players gotta help jim by cutting. n being available for the dumb off pass.

cause its a double wammy cause both harden n clint is usally off the court whem russ is running second unit.

russ has found a relaiable drop off guy with clint. as we have seen clint now has confindence in the lane with the hook because of the trust by russ

the secon unit should be guys that run.

My point is when the roster is healthy he will not shoot anywhere near this much. Don’t overreact

Well he was just younger and more athletic and his shot wasn’t the abomination it is now. But that is fair.

MDA has been dreadful this year and will thankfully he gone this offseason.

Post a video and then we can discuss it. But, yes, the offensive fouls called against him were, as far as I can recall, fair. You can quibble with them, alright, just like one can do for 50% of the fouls Harden draws. But they aren't the sort that would be overturned in a review. Again, if you have a video to one that you thought was especially egregious, I'm open to looking it over again and changing my mind.

He isn’t going to get relief. When you are an offensive force such as harden, or Steph curry opposing teams want to get the ball out of your hands. The non shooter hasn’t stopped him from leading the league in scoring, yet whenever he has a bad shooting game y’all act like it’s Westbrook’s fault.

harden always looked ok to me until the refs decide to make him look bad
cant really blame him for the refs erasing his points
he is the best player every year, but him being the best doesn't seem to coincide with the financial interests of adam silver
