It's not cowardice. It's realism. The Rockets are a horrible defensive team and the Spurs are undefeated at home with the best point differential in the league. I would be stunned if they won this game, even with Duncan sitting out.
The Spurs are just so dominant at home. I felt like there was a chance we could beat them before they lost to Golden State by 30. You just know Pop will have them ready.
Green torched Harden last game. Before our last encounter with Spurs, Danny Green had 6.9 PPG shooting 36% from the field and 30% from 3 point land and then went off for 18 points on 6/8 from 3 point land. Harden had 5 TO resulting in 14 transition points. Hopefully Harden owns Danny freaking Green this time.
Lol, it takes some much courage to sit behind a computer and write the rockets are going to win. You are so brave, you should tell Oprah your life story.
Interesting: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">JJRedick, talks about how Dwight sat everyone down in ORL, says love you guys but being traded to BK, trades going through tonight. Sigh...</p>— Tim Robertson (@TimJRobertson) <a href="https://twitter.com/TimJRobertson/status/692372791539154947">January 27, 2016</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
That thing was messed up on Dwight's part, Orlando's, and Stan Van Gundy's. It really ruined Dwight's image. Hate it happened that way.
How did we go 4-0 against them that season? Ok, so that last win was a gimme as Pop sat a bunch of players, but prior to that, we won both games in San Antonio. Was it Parsons who was the difference maker? What's odd is that season the Spurs went 62-20 and won the title and frankly could've won way more than 62 had they not locked up the #1 seed so early and coasted down the stretch. Yet they were 0-8 combined against the Rockets and Thunder in the regular season. Go figure.
You know how sometimes we call a player a Rocket-Killer? Sometimes it's a all-star level player like LMA that seems to play like some all time top 5 player against us whenever he sees us and sometimes it's some random scrub player that for whatever reason looks like an all-star against us? Well...James Harden is a Spurs-Killer. For whatever reason more often then not he destroys that team. He's also been super clutch against that team for whatever reason.
who's the weakest link of their starting 5? green? need to attack him. and when manu is on the court, we need to play up tempo ball to tire him out and make him ineffective.
I don't think that's it. We went 1-3 against the Spurs last year and Harden played every game. And the Spurs were a worse team in 2014-15 than in 2013-14.
Jonathan Feigen @Jonathan_Feigen 1h1 hour ago Rockets' James Harden on best run as a playmaker of his career, but that's not stat that impresses Bickerstaff most http://blog.chron.com/ultimaterockets/2016/01/james-harden-on-a-roll-with-assists-and-rebounds/
