No Duncan. This game is winnable. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">The Spurs announce that Duncan is out against the Rockets on Wednesday with right knee soreness.</p>— Mark Travis (@Mark_Travis) <a href="https://twitter.com/Mark_Travis/status/692099796744572928">January 26, 2016</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Would be an interesting stat...When was the last time the Spurs got blown out by 20+ during the Duncan/Popovich era??? I dont see it happening, but the Rockets are playing better, and I expect a much more amped regular season game #3. This game will be what the Spurs wanted with the Warriors, however, the Warriors are playing on a different planet, and the rest of the league is just hoping NOT to get embarrassed.
IF this team utilized screens and cuts to the time like GSW this would be easily winable. The rockets have a set of Harden at the top with ariza and the PG at the corners. Its was their demise last game.
If Dwight plays, maybe. But the Spurs don't rely on Duncan as much as they used to. They've got plenty of other weapons not to mention their defense.
The Marcus will re-activate his twitter after torching Jones. Getting at least one of two vs. SA/OKC would be nice but...
for what it's worth: -Q: What were you mostly doing vs. LaMarcus? -GREEN: Every time he had the ball I tried to pressure him. He’s already got five inches on me, so I’ve got to try to do what I can when I can do it. One thing I know I’ve got on him is speed so when I pressure the ball, if he gets a step on me I can usually make that up. But if I let him just get to his spot, he’s going to shoot right over the top of me. So I really just try to pressure him. But I’ve played better defense on LaMarcus than that before and he had 35. So that could’ve went the opposite way as well.
Just got my tickets for the game tomorrow, can't wait!! Hopefully we can give them there first loss at home this year!
