ASIK is the key of this game. if he gets 15+ rebounds, we win.

 

Trap game for the Pacers

 

Paul George and the Pacers defense will potentially be a nightmare for Harden. If we can hit our threes early and get in a groove, and scrap the half-court screen sets for endless PnRs we'll have a good chance.

 

We are now getting into the third game of the third 4-games-in-5-nights stretch since the Bulls game on X'mas night.

If our last two 5-win streaks were a test of how good we are measuring against the top playoff teams, then the 12 road games plus two 4-games-in-5-nights stretches in January will be a test of how tough we can be and how well we manage our energy and legs against middle playoff teams.

I think it's actually a good thing that our team has to go through such a tough test when they have been put together and played together only for just more than two months.

All these tests should be able to provide our coaching staff enough information on what they need to pay more attention to down the road to contend for a better seed for the postseason.

I think the worst case scenario for Janaury will be that we still come out one games above .500.

Though this could be disappointing for most fans but the good news is that we are going to have a much easier schedule after January and have a chance to run a winning streak of more than five games.

I still think we have a chance to snap the five game losing streak and win three consecutive games before meeting the hot Nuggets at home on 1/23.

Let's see if our young squad can have peaceful mind to sleep well before the coming games.

The only thing Delfino should be allowed to do is catch and shoot. No dribbling, no passing in traffic, please.

 

Pacers play mean defense against PnR. Going to be tough.

 

We should add a lot of PNR.
(1) Harden/Lin and Asik PNR. Give the guards and Asik green lights to take mid-range shots and our bigs prepare for tip-in and OR. Yes Asik has a mid-range shot.
(2) Harden/Lin and Smith PNR.
(3) Harden and Lin PNR.
(4) Off-the-ball PNR for open 3's.
(5) More PNR.

I can't stand our contested 3's and forced penetration.

 

We don't run that many pnrs anyways, no problem.

 

Morey's actually said during today's sportstalk 790 that they're learning alot through losing, and that it's good for this young team to learn to grow.

Honestly all I want is for this team to come out of January above .500 and without any injuries, and I think that, through the learning and growing and battling together, they'll make the playoffs. I don't even care what seat, because even a little playoff experience goes a long way.:grin::grin:

 

Actually, what I'd like to see too is Lin or Harden PNR/PNP (space on two sides near the top of the key) with Delfino or Parson so they could either shoot, drive, or swing to Lin/Harden for either a drive or another PNR.
