I'd play Clemons also just because he's young and has potential, he's something you can actually develop, McLemore is who he is, has been around the league for years and was basically out of it for a reason this summer...he came into the league as a pure shooter but that never really translated, he's just inconsistent...and on top of that he has low iq and he's just a poor defender. Basically a budget Gerald without the x-factor that Gerald has. I'd still play Clark over McLemore few games to see what he has.

It’s not about match ups and it’s not just one game.

This is our team when we have a very winnable game but don’t play the right way. This is our team when we rally from 20 down but can’t capitalize on Durant going down. This is us in Game 6 even when we get up by 7 late in the game.

D’antoni has convinced this team we can put up 10 quick points that they don’t value individual possessions. Harden has the same thought process. Yes we can be great. But we won’t always be great so we have to have a little more than “we’ll just keep doing what we’re doing, play the way we play” and nothing else.

Agreed the expectation around here seems to be
1st quarter. . . . teammates not hitting shots. . . Harden goes super saiyen and never pass to them again
until we lose . . .then he is a ball hog

What about the poor shooting from Rivers, Tucker and Ben lol. The only decent 3 point shooter tonight was Harden

It's not even about that. The offense was out of rhythm. Any team that can't shoot open threes will inevitably lose, just the way the league is now a days.

the reality is, he has these streaks that set that bar for him and now people expect it every single night. that's not happening. he's obviously human, and when certain defenses execute a good game plan that focuses on him, others are going to have to step up. he can't put up his usual numbers and make up for additional lack of support every night. nobody should be expecting that

8 turnovers too, and struggled against late clock doubles. I’m sure he will be better against them next time. He didn’t control the game like he usually does.

Hmmmmm, I don't think so. That seven foot monster in the middle that can shot is a problem.

It's not even that. Why hold the ball for 5 seconds letting the double come? If you noticed on vast majority of the doubles, they didn't initially start the possession doubling Harden. They let him hold the ball for 5-10 seconds.

I would rather him make the quick move either to break down the defense to set up a shot for a teammate in the flow of the offense or try to score. Just do the quick move.

12/38 threes.... yuk. Harden was 4/8, so basically everyone else blew it. 8/30 my god.

    Dammit.

Clippers have too much pride to use gimmick defenses. Harden will be going one v one.

Yup and some things can be done to counter what Denver did, especially in protecting the ball. Had the Rockets protected the ball better they may very well have won.

Also with Westbrook teams with long athletic wings like Denver, will sag off of him which limits Harden penetrating. The only way to do that is hot outside shots; which Westbrook struggles at doing.

Before we went on a winning streak I said this Rockets team’s issue isn’t coaching or effort. The Rockets are light on personnel to play certain teams. We need longish wings that can switch, get out in transition and hit enough 3’s to compensate for Westbrook.

We need to be aggressive targeting guys that haven’t had sufficient playing time to see if they can expand their roles. The Nuggets and Knicks have players like that rotting on their bench.

Clemons and Hartenstein have earned more minutes but we cannot count on them for consistency.
