This loss doesn’t mean much and while I appreciate the passion of fans, they shouldn’t have played yesterday. I will say though that to see MDA get on McLemore for a defensive mistake surprised me in a good way, but I realise he will never do that with his star players. This is a serious problem.

This game was all PJ Tucker. Everytime he went out, the Nuggets seemed to pull ahead.

Obviously, just one game... but the defensive issues can't be understated.

Nor can one understate how much of a difference it would make to this team if they had a "REAL" power forward. Not trading Clint for one, but just replacing any and all of House, Thabo, McLemore, Gordon, Rivers, Hartenstein, Chandler....

BASICALLY, keep Harden, Russ, Tucker and Capela, and get a LEGIT, REAL power forward, and, even recognizing the importance of a bench, that would be a much better team, and frankly a team that might even be able to compete into a through a WCF.

When I say legit and real, I mean at worst a TALL 6'8 that can defend, rebound, and has some offensive game in some way, whether as just a spot up shooter, or an interior guy, or what. Given this style and system, obviously someone who can stretch the floor makes the most sense.

This would be so extra beneficial to the team because then you have a frontcourt of Tucker (SF), Legit PF, and Capela (C). Even with Harden's meh defense and Russ's ok defense, you'd be able to create a defensive scheme that would be much more effective, principally running people off the 3, and then packing the pain in an effort to just give up mid-range.

Aaron Gordon would be so amazing. I think I would give up 2 first round picks for him.

    I actually don't love him...

HOWEVER, I'd caveat that with I don't love him because I think Orlando would want "a lot" for him. As in Capela plus a first. Or Tucker plus a couple firsts.

Not just for a return, but because of salaries matching.

Maybe DM can find a 3 way deal that works, but otherwise outside something like - House, Nene, McLemore, Thabo, Chandler, Harty and Rivers and Green (who I think both have to consent to a trade) - the Rockets would HAVE to include Tucker or Capela to get salaries to match.

This is why others have suggested something more like Capela, Nene, House, Thabo for Gordon and Bamba.

You'd have to REALLY REALLY convince me that Bamba is just being poorly developed and underused and can QUICKLY become something way more productive then he is AND that Harty is ready to start or there's some other way to replace Capela. Defense is our problem, and trading perhaps our most important defensive player would be difficult to get past. Might be better for next year though. If Harden or Russ ended up injured for rest of the season I'd be more willing... though still its not like they have cap space to replace Capela.

Really would have liked them to have gone after WCS.
