The Rockets made their shots. In my opinion, that's an underrated part of their defense. They play their best on that end of the floor when they're engaged and have good flow between offense and defense. Today's big 3: Melo, Paul and Capela. Gordon was solid too. Glad to see that stupid hackapela strategy backfire and cost the Nets any chance of winning.
Starting the second half I noticed the Rockets weren’t switching everything and was fighting over screens. That helped with mismatches and protecting the paint. That allowed them to get more stops which added a pep to their step and you could see their confidence grow. They need to do that more often. Only switch when necessary!
Rumor is James is good to go, but MDA didn't want to play him B2B with the hammy thing. So, he's playing tomorrow night. Let's hope that's right
I have to say the YES Network is top notch, great fair coverage, good questions on the post game interviews and all around enjoyable experience watching this game.
For all saying we don’t have good coaches - please watch the adjustment that MDA makes from the 6 minute mark in the second quarter. Absolutely beautiful. I’ve missed this type of coaching.
No sign of MCW and Chriss in the second half, Melo doing the right things on both ends and we won...not saying it's all on these things, of course it isn't, but still...
Um, hold your horses. It's incredible we were able to pull out the win without him. We will only go as far as MCW takes us.
One point to make... the reason the Rockets' offense woke up is because they got stops on defense. When they can get out in transition, their early offense is killer. Don't think they just started randomly making shots. They made shots because they got good looks from getting stops on defense.
