Not surprising..... 1)Webber is a big man (a pretty good one at that) and is likely thinking about how he would attack this defense 2) You will never get in-depth commentary during nationally televised NBA games as casual fans (the bulk of the audience) won't understand it 3) The Lakers are the more popular team. If the situation was reversed (w/ the Lakers playing microball and us playing big), Weber would still harp on it. Expect Shaq and Barkley (both big men) to harp on the micro ball for the same reasons as Webber
This is why I hate it for the most part. Defense will win you most games. You can't expect our players to hit consistent 3pt shots all the time. The Lakers are just taking Harden out of the game, which is what they did in the first game. Westbrook has to take the ball up.
They have to play the passing lanes a little better but they are having to adjust to this style as well. If they give the effort that this lineup will demand and keep the ball and their bodies moving on the other end they will be fine
Gonna be a lot more of that. They will have to gamble more and try to gamble and get loose balls, jump passing lanes and sneak steals from behind.
small ball lineup is interesting. gonna need a month or two to get everyone comfortable with the system.
It's a work-in-work-in-progress. I don't think MDA knows for sure. I'm starting to understand the concept, but it means blacking out a lot of traditional BB concepts.
