This is the first game where we gameplanned no screen for Lin for the first half, then made the halftime adjustment to set screens for Lin. It's always been the other way around. Maybe it's starting to dawn a bit on McHale. Who knows? It was working great and we went from -4 to +4 to start the 3rd. When Lin hit the bench we were even able to extend the lead further end 3rd/start 4th (SAC was just ice cold from the outside missing wide open shots through the stretch). At least I see some improvement: More screens are being set for Harden and less initiation off iso. However, had we just been setting the stinkin' screens from the start of the game, this would have been an easy win 125-110.
I think they are playing him because they are showcasing him to other teams for a trade. That's just a guess though.
With Beverley back in the rotation, expect a losing streak. Rockets are now 1-5 with Beverley as the backup PG which can't be a coincidence because with Beverley in the rotation the Rockets have lost to teams they should have beaten including horrifying losses to non-playoff teams Sacramento, Dallas and Minnesota. Beverley seems too ball dominant to play with Harden and Lin. It may not show up in the stat sheet, but it shows up in the W/L column. Parsons, in particular, was affected, as he likes to handle the ball more in a shared offense, but found himself at the mercy of Beverley's ball dominant style.
did u watch the game last night???? we took a 10 point lead because of Beverly's play at PG… Lin sucked it up and couldn't play defense against thomas. Beverly isn't the issue, the issue is our two weak positions are PF and PG. Lin will consistently get dominated by quicker and or bigger pg's.
That poster is probably a troll or a BOH. However, Lin didn't suck last night. Maybe you didn't watch the game. He committed two fouls that were ticky tack on Isaiah and he didn't get any calls on the other end. The PG position wasn't what caused us the loss.
Ya let's just forget we turned the ball over 15 times, got out rebounded (Kings had 16 Off Reb), and went 10-33 for 3pt line.
It was a loss, but Lin was -1 on the court and Beverley was -5. Lin's foul trouble was a deciding factor in the outcome of the game. Lin was playing well. Beverley missed back to back shots (1:38, 0:35) in crunch time, then committed a boneheaded foul on Isiah Thomas (0:25) that resulted in two made free throws and handed the game to Sacramento. Beverley 3-point shooting (past 10 games) 18% Beverley 3-point shooting (past 5 games) 16% A backup PG who shoots this poorly from long range doesn't belong in the rotation and won't help the Rockets in the playoffs.
It was a 1 point game 105-106 when Beverley entered the game with 2:40 left to play in the 4th. He misses a three, misses a layup, and commits a dumb foul that puts the Kings on the free throw line. All in crunch time with less than 2 minutes to play. Did I mention the missed rotations and blown defensive assignments? Rockets lose by 6. Final score: Rockets 111 Kings 117 This was a game the Rockets had to have sitting there at the 8th spot with Golden State and the Clippers coming up next.
I love how posters who didn't watch the game or are watching them with blinders on are calling out other for not watching games. Dude Thomes had a total of 7 pts heading into the 4th quarter before he ended up with 23, 16 pts in the 4th for which Lin was only responsible for 5. You say Lin will be "consistently" dominated by quicker or bigger pg. lets hear them, who are the bigger and quicker pgs that have dominated him this year and in which games?

Beverley sucked in crunch time against the Kings and is shooting just 16% from three-point range over the past 5 games and just 18% over the past 10. Killed the Rockets chances in the 4th.
I wonder what kind of shoes Harden was wearing during this game. They looked fresh as hell in person!
