it was what he was doing when he wasn't shooting well that has people excited. He just knows how to play basketball. Now that he is shooting the way they thought he would its even better.
I'm hoping it's sooner rather than later. There's no way we can realistically go anywhere with Black as the backup C. Does he have a future? Possibly. But not as the backup C.
Papa has good game, clearly see hes got what it takes. Defensively meh, but im sure hes going to get used to US basketball pretty quickly. We need him to break out
He's an undrafted rookie in his first year. This is game number TWO. Give him some time to get his feet wet. Geez.
Exactly. You think Pap at the 4 was an adjustment for more 3s? No! McHale wanted D and boards. And a freakin Baller! Then he starts passing crazy and burying treys. Mmmhmm
Really happy to see Papanikolaou have a strong first half... he did not shoot very well from long range in the preseason.
We are desperate for positives. Remember some of us grew up with the Oilers. Anything positive, no matter how small should be celebrated by long time Houston Sports fans. We should cheer players who get off the team bus without stumbling and injuring themselves.
"defensively meh"? come on now. he has a couple defensive mistakes but he is solid, especially off the ball. think of how good he will be when he has more games under his belt.
The amazing thing with Papanikolaou is that we speak of his court awareness as his greatest asset, yet he's only 24. This guy has tremendous upside in the league.
