He would do it if he accepts being a role player instead of being the 40 million star player who has to take the shot.

Not sure why Westbrook couldn't drive in there. He had the space and the time to hit a clutch 2 layup or dunk rather than shooting a 3pt (he was missing from the 3 pointer all night)... or he could have drove in and passed to Capela if the guy in the paint picked up on him. Also, why is Capela standing in the corner like he can hit mid-range in that situation?

    Just found this interesting.

I don’t give a damn if Westbrook has made game-winning shots in his career. If you are shooting 23% from the three-point line, you do not take a wide-open three in a situation when you only need a two to take the lead, unless you absolutely have no time left on the clock. Westbrook also had enough space to drive and kick for a much higher-percentage shot or get to a mid-range spot he liked.

He could have been the 40m star player who drove to the basket

imo harden should have faked the 3 and then drove right for a floater in the paint

Normally I'd agree, and he did have that layup where he made PG look like he was standing still, but WB can't hit anything outside of 15 feet anymore. That includes free throws. He never was a great shooter, but he's really bad now, and he still takes the shot. The Rockets don't rebound well enough for them to throw away a bunch of possessions, which is what essentially happens every time he takes a 15 foot shot or greater.

It has to be fixed. Even when House and Gordon get back. Teams aren't dumb. They'll play 5 on 4, and dare WB to shoot 3s. I would, were I them.

No way around it when you are playing the 5 position you have to be a man and do your job which means dunk the ball. He is so use to how James has made it easy for him that he gets scared when he has the ball in traffic

Falling apart is when we keep turning the ball over. I disagree that we fell apart.

Clippers were just more clutch. PG hit that corner three and I felt that was well defended. They made a great play on that potential Capela bucket by blocking him. They got the ball quickly up the floor and got Lou a wide open three. The doubled Harden and got the ball out of his hands to our worst shooter (Westbrook). Then of course, the Kawhi clutch shot (even with the push off).

I think the Rockets win this game if Russ doesn't jack up that three. The Rockets had time plus a timeout. But we all know that Russ is a low IQ player and didn't think things through. I am not too mad at Russ, he played a good game, just that play killed me.

Let them keep doing that. They'll lose that way, especially when they get our full team back. Russ Harden pick and roll looks really promising. .....I know he's an inefficient scorer, but we take the good with the bad, this is what we have.

we didnt play well in the first half and were down 14. we were only shooting about 23% from outside first half. we finally made some open shots second half. i would hardly call this a great game for us....it might be good considering two key players are out, but im certain this team can be much better than this.

I never like piling on our guys but WB gives me JLin vibes. Fun player to watch when he's on another team but never wanted them on the Rockets cause they're likely to cost you games in the clutch. Either by bad decision making/bad shot making/or lack of awareness.

Somehow they both landed on our team so like you said, just gotta keep the faith. ‍♂️

Bro , Harden was ON THE FLOOR after a made basket. When its potentially your last shot of the game , how are you gonna be hands off in that situation?

I admit i like to hone in on mike

We def could have made our FT's tonight , or had the refs not screw us, or had Gordon/House available. But i trust mike to win if the circumstances are perfect. I dont have a problem with his rotations in blowouts. But in tight moments he sucks. He always plays small or shortens the rotations.

Mike wasn't the singular reason we lost the game tonight , but his strategy for keeping us in it was to play harden, tucker, and PJ 40 minutes. He only trusted Chandler for 6 minutes and thabo( who was playing well) for about 10. And in the end, the clippers destroyed us down the stretch and we didnt have the execution or juice to get it done. Its a pattern. Hopefully the team itself is good enough to overcome these types of situations in the playoffs

    I wish...

    1. MDA called a time-out after Kawhi's 2pt
    2. Russel drive a bit more for a higher percentage mid-range. There's still 7 secs or so and just down 1
    3. Capela dunk it in the earlier sequence

I just don't think House is that guy when things get tough. How many big shots has he hit when the games got close in the 4th quarter? Gordon is our only hope at this point, and who knows how he'll come back (probably in worse shape after rehab).
